SCP-049
"Mature Content" | |
This character or verse has mature themes and concepts, thus those of young age are ill-advised to look through these. |
Background
SCP-049 is a humanoid entity that bears the appearance of a medieval plague doctor. X-Ray imaging showcases that its facial structure is shaped exactly like the mask, though he does have a humanoid skeletal structure beneath the outer layer.
SCP-049 was discovered during the investigation of a series of unknown disappearances in the town of Montauban in southern France, where investigators found several instances of SCP-049-2, as well as SCP-049. SCP-049 willingly entered the Foundation custody.
In custody he reveals that he is trying to find a cure to the Pestilence, being willing to comply with the Foundation in order to work with them and cure it.
Personality
- Cooperative: SCP-049 is one of the few entities cooperative with the Foundation, wishing to experiment and find ways to cure diseases. However it is prone to outbursts and becoming aggressive. It is noted to be generally cordial and cooperative with Foundation staff.
- Desire to cure The Pestilence: SCP-049 fully believes The Pestilence is a disease that must be cured, and he will find any way possible to do so. Viewing it at his duty to rid the world of it and make The Cure To End All Cures.
- Hatred of the Pestilence: It's outbursts of anger, aggressiveness, and irritability, is due to when it feels the presence of The Pestilence. This will cause it to become hostile and attempt to kill any individual it views as being affected by the Pestilence.
- Anger Upon Being Questioned on its Cure: SCP-049 will become progressively more agitated the more one questions its cure and states it is not helping or creating a cure, claiming that they are mocking it because of setbacks.

Powers and Techniques
Superhuman Speed, Human Achievements (SCP-049 is a a talented doctor, spending his entire lifetime developing his methods), Multilingualism (SCP-049 is capable of speech in a variety of languages though generally uses English or medieval French. Restful Susteannce; Has seemingly lived for over 200 years after being contained and no one on Earth is left alive, without needing any rest), Dimensional Storage (SCP-049 has a bag that has anomalously large spaces, being able to pull objects larger than the tab itself from within it in order to operate on deceased subjects), Resurrection (Resurrection on Singular Targets, Resurrection of the Deceased) & Necromancy (Resurrected a mosquito from the dead, turning it into SCP-3774. Equipment
- SCP-049-2: SCP-049-2 are beings that were killed by SCP-049 and then alterated and reanimated (Though they do not need to be killed by SCP-049 in order for him to reanimate them into SCP-049-2). They are very aggressiving, immedieatly attacking anyone that gets close to SCP-049 or if SCP-049 commands them to.
- Medical Bag: A bag used by SCP-049 to carry around his medical equipment. Despite it looking like a regular bag it has the ability to store things far larger then it in size, allowing him to store various equipment within it.
Notable Techniques
- Death Touch: SCP-049 are able to kill people through merely touching them, which cancels all biological functions in an instant.
- Reanimation: SCP-049 is able to perform surger on the bodies it kills or already existing corpses and reanimate them into a SCP-049-2.
Other
Standard Tactics: If SCP-049 views one has The Pestilience, it will touch it to cease all bodily functions and then proceed to make alterations to its body to reanimate it and make it an SCP-049-2.
Weaknesses: Seemingly cannot reanimate targets after a fifth time. Will become hostile and aggressive and immedieatly try to kill a target he feels is inflicted with the pestilience. In the event of SCP-049 becoming aggressive, application of lavender will produce a calming effect on the entity.
