This blog is to explain the wiki's stance on JoJo's 9-A and above "feats" and why they are not used.
9-A Calculations
Newly Awakened Vampire Puts a Crater Into A Wall
First things first the calculation system that most of these calcs use is incorrect, which VSBW (the site all of these come from) has admitted but have not changed due to how much calculations they have that use this system.

This is a feat of someone punching a a crater into a wall it realistically should not get 0.046 Tons of TNT which is 9-A+
Along with the above this wouldn't even scale to Durability as the vampire broke his hand performing the feat with Dio noting the vampire's body couldn't handle his own power
Star Platinum Destroys High Priestess's Teeth
Calc uses Fragmentation which as explained above isn't accurate
Petshop Freezes Water
This calculation doesn't fit with our freezing standards which you can read about here
Along with this nobody would even scale to this as it is done via Hax
Stands don't scale to their Hax and even Stands like Star Platinum, the physically strongest Stand still gets easily harmed by Hax like abilities from stands physically weaker than him
Hierophant Green for example was able to blast a hole into Star Platinum's chest with its Emerald Splash being stated to be powerful in comparison to itself
Killer Queen's explosives (Both from itself and Sheer Heart Attack) are able to easily harm Star Platinum: The World and Crazy Diamond. Both of these stands are shown to be physically stronger than Killer Queen especially in Star Platinum's case
High DIO's Road Roller Attack
Even assuming the calc is fine this just further proves Star Platinum and The World are not 9-A
Previously in the fight, Jotaro summoned Star Platinum within himself to tank a hit from DIO further proving he should have been able to tank it if he was 9-A
Crazy Diamond Destroys A Large Rock
Calc uses Violent Fragmentation which as explained above isn't accurate
This is a feat of someone shattering a rock in 5 punches it realistically should not get 9-A
Echoes Act 2 Creates An Explosion
Even assuming the calc is fine nobody should physically scale to this as it was done via Hax which as explained above Stands don't physically scale to
Secco Creates A Crater
Secco's entire ability is that he is able to swim through stone like its mud which causes the martials above it to deform and break
There is no physical feat being performed here its purely Hax
Along with this the calc uses Pulverization
Gyro's Steel Balls Turn A Rock to Dust
This feat relies on that fact that Gyro reduced a lot of the rock to dust by smashing it
Gyro did in fact not smash the rock into dust as it was shown Gyro used his Steel Balls to grind out dust from the rock along with this the very scan used to justify this says "I've scattered some dust from the rock." further supporting he wasn't reducing a bunch of the rock to dust
Along with this the calc uses Violent Fragmentation and Pulverization
Scary Monsters Puts A Crater Into A Wall
Both of the images shown here should not be 9-A you can easily eyeball these at 9-B
Along with this the calc uses Violent Fragmentation and Pulverization which is why the calc gets these inflated results
Tusk Act 2 Makes A Crater
The feat is Tusk Act 2 being able to displace dirt for at least 10 meters
We see in the scan that crater is very thin so realistically this isn't even close to 9-A as 0.27626809811 meters X 0.9485204702 X 10 meters is an volume of 2.62045946321 meters cubed
This is far smaller than the volume of a room
For example a bathroom with a height of 2.67 meters (average ceiling heights are this size), length of 2.24 meters, and width of 1.53 meters (minimum bathroom dimensions) has a volume of 9.150624 meters cubed
Tusk Act 2's KE
OP doesn't explain how they got the timeframe for this calc
Along with the above this calc makes to many assumptions and just assumes Johnny's nail bullets reached ten meters
Low 8-C Calculations
Star Platinum Punches Hierophant Green Through A Roof
The calc using a frame from the anime which doesn't show the full hole when it should have used a this scan
Along with this the calc uses Violent Fragmentation
This feat can easily be eyeballed to 9-B
8-C Calculations
Jack the Ripper Destroys The Roof Of A Tunnel
Genuinely have no idea how this got 8-C this feat can easily be eyeball to 9-B
Calc uses a mixture or Fragmentation and Violent Fragmentation
Jonathan's Body and Dio Survive A Ship Explosion
The main reason for why Jonathan's body and Dio are assumed to have withstood the ship explosion is because of this panel showing the blast about to hit them along with the fact Araki planned for Dio to return so the two withstanding the blast wasn't retconned
"Q: Very good. Let's start with JoJo, then. I think it's safe to say that this series is the only "generational saga" to come from Japan. Was that your plan from the start?
"A: Only partially. Let me explain: I originally only planned for the series to be three parts, ending with the final confrontation against Dio Brando. This meant that I was already aware of the fact that I would need to make three different JoJo's, who would–in some sort of way–all be descendants of each other, and that their lives would be linked by a common curse. The problem with this is that Part 3 shows this was retconned
If Dio and Jonathan's body had taken the blast Dio shouldn't have been inside the coffin as he would have no way of getting to the bottom compartment without Erina knowing yet we learn that's where he has been for the past century
Even assuming they survived the blast we have no idea if they tanked it just regenerated and damage taken for the explosion
Assuming they took this blast this would be as massive PIS
The reason that coffin was on the ship in the first place is because Dio bought the coffin to ship to protect himself incase of an explosion
Even considering the quote above its very possible Araki simply forgot he drew a single panel of Dio and Jonathan's body being hit by the blast
JoJo was planned to be 3 parts but this hasn't prevented continuity errors within those parts, for example in the original Weekly Shonen Jump publication of Part 1 Will is stated to have no family which is later shown to be false due to Mario and Caesar being direct descendants of Will in Part 2. Because of this Will's statement was altered in later versions of Part 1 with him stating he left his family
Tarkus Slices Off A Cliff
Tarkus isn't splitting the cliff in one blow he is dragging his sword across the cliff creating a crack that causes a chain reaction making the cliff fall
Along with this the calc uses Violent Fragmentation
Pet Shop Freezes The Air
Same situation as the water calc from earlier
This calculation doesn't fit with our freezing standards and nobody would even scale to this
Magician's Red Creates A Tunnel
As mentioned before Stands don't scale to Hax along with this its shown Magician's Red doesn't physically scale to this
Cross Fire Hurricane the very attack Avdol used to create this hole can burn Magician's Red and melt Sliver Chariot's armor with it being explained Polnareff only survived the attack because of Sliver Chariot's armor and he would have been badly injured if Sliver Chariot didn't ejected from it while his stand was burning
Magician's Red Burns A Hole In The Ground
Same reasons as above
Wheel Of Fortune Digs A Tunnel
Wheel of Fortune did this overtime and not in a single blow
Along with this the calc uses Violent Fragmentation (It shouldn't even use V. Frag in the first place considering we see chucks of rock burst out of the hole)
Secco Destroys A Pillar Of The Coliseum
Same situation as the 9-A Secco calc
This is basically Secco splashing mud which causes the stone across said mud to distort causing the pillar to fall apart
same applies for the anime version of the feat which shouldn't even be used when the manga version gets Low 8-C
Also for some god forsaken reason OP adds up all the values from both anime calcs and manga calc and gets 0.844 Tons of TNT which makes no sense considering the anime feat doesn't even happen in the manga
Along with this the calc uses Fragmentation
Underworld Creates A Hole
We never see Underworld actually create this crater so have no idea if he even did this in one blow
It's more likely he didn't do this in one hit considering how he burrows through rock
Along with this the calc uses Pulverization even though we see chucks of rock in the scan
Stone Free Fists Are Like Small But Fast Meteors
This is a statement you can't calc this
We are given no numbers and no values just the statement of her fist being comparable to small but incredibly fast meteor
Just because they are comparable to incredibly fast meteors doesn't mean Araki intended for them to be comparable to the strongest meteors possible especially considering most people don't use the word incredible to describe the near highest or highest degree
Stone Free Deflects Meteors
The calc uses the speed of meteors before they hit the ground which are far faster than when they are about to impact the earth
When they are about to impact the earth meteors move at 90 to 180 m/s
Redoing the calc with this in mind gets 93840.5295563 joules which is 9-B
Tusk ACT 4 Creates A Crater
Many things wrong with this calc
For one they never explain how they got any measures and just assume Tusk Act 4 is 195 cm
They also use the Pulverization of rock instead of dirt
They also don't factor in the fact that Tusk Act 4 did this feat in 9 punches instead of 1
To add insult to injury this feat might not even be usable because of how inconsistent the size of the crater is
Yotsuyu Survives Part 8 Sheer Heart Attack
High 8-C Calculations
Joseph Withstands The G-Force Of Being Launched Into Space
Characters traveling on a fast moving object is common in fiction and shouldn't be used for durability unless it's treated as a durability feat
Joseph and Kars do not treat this as a feat with Kars only mentioning that the rock is moving fast and the volcano explosion was powerful
Using the measurements and formula the calc got we can find the value of the rock falling
Using the splat calculator we get

Joseph's cross section area: 2.276 m^2 (but we use half)
Boulder CA: 48.3567812442 m^2
Ratio: (2.276/2)/48.3567812442 = 0.02353341084
Energy Joseph took: 362925360000*0.02353341084
2.041317304 Tons of TNT, the same value as what Joseph would be tanking when the rock was be launched which further proves this wasn't meant to be a durability feat
Along with this the splat calculator doesn't factor in any type of friction so this value would be even lower than what the calc got
Dark Blue Moon Creates A Whirlpool
The problem here is that they didn't factor in the fact that all the water would be separating and joining together when Dark Blue Moon was spinning it so they wouldn't get an accurate mass
Red Hot Chili Pepper Absorbs Morioh's Energy
The calc itself is fine but there are two major problems with how Red Hot Chili Pepper is amped
The first problem is that Red Hot Chili Pepper was going to use up all this energy by the time he was done fighting Josuke and wouldn't punching with High 8-C force every time he attacks
The second problem is that Crazy Diamond wasn't completely fodderized by Red Hot Chili Pepper and was able to survive his Stand barrage
This doesn't mean Crazy Diamond is also High 8-C since regular Red Hot Chili Pepper can harm Crazy Diamond
So if Red Hot Chili Pepper's amp was High 8-C Josuke realistically would have been turned to mush when his Stand and Red Hot Chili Pepper fought
Part 8 Sheer Heart Attack Causes A JMA Level 3 Earthquake
Multiple problems with this calc
For one they also pixel scale a map to get the size of Moriah even though not all maps are drawn to scale
Along with this they already get the scale of the earthquake with it being a JMA level 3
JMA level 3 is equal to Magnitude 3-4 earthquakes
This makes 2-3 SHAs 8-C to 8-B
Anti Feats
Parts 1-2
- A newly awakened vampire broke his hand putting a large carter in a wall with Dio noting he couldn't withstand the power of his own attack. This feat was calculated at 9-B.
- A vampiric Dio was harmed by bullets.
- Without Hamon, Jonathan was able to harm a zombie by smashing its head with a spear.
- Dio was harmed by a spear.
- Dio was harmed by a knife.
- Dio was kicked into a statue by an enraged Jonathan which impaled him. Jonathan when enraged is far weaker than him.
- Will Zeppeli can't break down a thick metal door noting the Hamon he learned isn't for destroying things.
- Jonathan, after fighting a vampiric Dio, noted breaking a rock was impressive.
- Speedwagon was able to smash a zombie’s head with a sledgehammer.
- Tarkus' bones were smashed to bits by falling through a wall.
- While amplified, Jonathan needed all his strength to break a steel chain around his neck with Tarkus he himself couldn't break the chains even with the powers given to him by Dio. These chains were noted to be regular chains from medieval times.
- Dio was harmed by a regular person.
- Jonathan was able to harm Dio despite his Hamon not connecting. Its explained that Hamon is able to destroy things as it travels through the object so the argument of Jonathan was still amped by the Hamon doesn't work.
- Dio needed a protective coffin to survive a ship explosion.
- Joseph was able to draw blood from Straizo despite his Hamon not connecting.
- Straizo was blown to bits by multiple grenades.
- The oil pressure from the Hell Climb Pillar, which is an ancient structure, is able to slice through Joseph.
- Joseph is unable to survive a fall of 20 meters.
- Joseph is unable to survive a 200 to 300 meter fall.
- Wamuu's Divine Sand Strom is able to heavily damage Caesar Zeppeli, which is only able to barely destroy a room. Joseph is also unable to withstand a weakened version of this attack.
- Vampire Horses are able to trample Joseph, who exert a force of 150 horsepower.
- Crossbows that is only able to crack stone are able to turn Wamuu's head to mush. These crossbows also smash the head of a vampire horse and nearly killed Joseph.
- Wamuu's body was destroyed by an explosion of this size.
- Joseph harmed himself by attacking a spiked rock.
- Ultimate Kars was heavily harmed by a plane crash.
- Stroheim was unable to tank a large fall from a plane.
- When Joseph hit the ocean while on a rock, the rock he was on protected him yet he still broke his bones and had to recover for two weeks which was calculated at Low 8-C.
Parts 3-6
- Sliver Chariot and Hierophant Green don't have the power to stop a head on collision with a truck
- Wheel of Fortune was heavily damaged after being punched off a cliff
- High DIO's The World and an enraged Jotaro's Star Platinum were only able to put dents into a road roller while punching it as hard as they can. Along with this Jotaro couldn't tank the weight of the road roller using Star Platinum
- Sheer Heart Attack was able to easily break through Star Platinum: The World's guard and nearly kill Jotaro with its explosion. Sheer Heart Attack can vaporize a man making it Low 8-C. Along with this Jotaro wasn't even at the epicenter of the explosion so he wasn't being hit with full blast.
- Killer Queen's explosions were able to easily harm Crazy Diamond despite not being at the epicenter and blocking the blast. While these blasts can go up to Low 8-C this blast was shown to be far smaller than its Low 8-C counterpart so it wouldn't even scale to that.
- Early Part 6 Stone Free is unable to completely break through metal bars with Jolyne stating it's strength is limited to crushing a coin
- Stone Free broke her hands deflecting meteors calculated at 9-B
Parts 7-9
- While using Scary Monsters, Diego Brando was bisected by getting caught under a train which killed him
- While beating down Funny Valentine, Tusk Act 4 only caused a crater of this size which was calculated to be 9-C
- Josuke while frustrated was only able to punch in large dents in a metal wall while using Soft & Wet
