Morgana is the younger sister of the wicked sea witch named Ursula, whose place she takes as the main antagonist of Disney's 2000 direct-to-video animated sequel film The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea. she was shown to have often been criticized by her mother for not being as talented as her older sister, Ursula, whom her mother preferred. Unlike her older sister, it is unknown if Morgana was banished from Atlantica as well, but she was apparently well known as many merfolk fled from her when she first appeared and Sebastian even referred to her as Ursula's crazy sister, hinting she had previously performed questionable actions in the past that earned her some notoriety.
'''Lumiere''' is a supporting character in Disney's 1991 animated feature film, ''Beauty and the Beast''. He is the charismatic, yet rebellious, castle's maître'd, who was turned into a candelabra by the Enchantress' curse.

|The party celebrating baby Melody's birth is interrupted by Ursula's vengeful sister Morgana attempting to prove her superiority over Ursula. She attempts to feed Melody to her shark, Undertow to force King Triton into handing his trident, but fails when Undertow is changed into a piranha and Prince Eric and Ariel rescue Melody. So, Morgana, Undertow, and her two manta rays, Cloak and Dagger escape inside a huge whirlpool of ink. While Morgana leaves, she threatens to return and have her revenge on everyone, mainly Melody.
|After the fateful day when his master refuses to let a beggar woman into the castle (who was really an enchantress in disguise), Lumiere and the other servants in the castle are turned into household objects, with Lumiere having been turned into a candelabra. He is the first to show any kindness to Maurice, who comes upon the castle after losing his horse and getting lost in the woods. Despite Cogsworth's objections, Lumiere and the other servants comfort Maurice until the Beast arrives. Lumiere shows fear and has no power to save Maurice from being trapped in the dungeon. When Maurice's daughter Belle searches for him, she stumbles upon the castle. Lumiere is the first to spot and shows her the way to her father. Belle trades places to save her sick father and Lumiere gives advice to his master about giving Belle a proper room. The Beast doesn't look like he likes this suggestion at first, but decides to take Lumiere's advice and gives Belle her own room. Lumiere silently gives the Beast more advice as he escorts Belle to her room. Lumiere and Mrs. Potts, the castle's head of the maids, speak with Beast about the spell being broken and tries their best to calm his temper. When Belle wishes not to attend to dinner it causes Beast's temper to go out of control. Before heading downstairs with Mrs. Potts to clean up, Lumiere was ordered by Cogsworth to keep watch of Belle's room and inform him if there is a slightest change at once, which he does. Sooner or later, while he was busy flirting with Fifi, Lumiere sees Belle leaving her room and follows her downstairs to the kitchen. He decides to give Belle a warm welcome by singing "Be Our Guest". Belle then decides she wants to go for a tour with him and Cogsworth and they soon pass a stairway that leads to the West Wing which the Beast expressly forbad. Sensing Belle's curiosity and knowing their master's reaction if he sees her enter, Lumiere and Cogsworth try to persuade her to visit the library; instead, but Belle sneaks away from them and enters anyway. The Beast turns out to be indeed very angry with Belle and after frightening her, she leaves. Lumiere and the others tend to an injured Beast after he saves Belle from a pack of wolves to redeem himself for driving her out.
Twelve years later, Morgana, Undertow, Cloak, and Dagger now live in an iceberg lair. Morgana is now trying several attempts to change Undertow back into a shark, but all fail. Morgana now believes that it is no use and that the trident is too powerful for her to overcome. It is soon revealed that Morgana does not like being criticized because all her mother ever did was criticize her and tell her she should be more like Ursula. It is also revealed that their mother favored Ursula more than Morgana. Morgana and Undertow argue about whose fault was what about hiding in the lair. The orb light shines, and Morgana goes and sees Melody holding her locket. They both get an idea. They decide they will use Melody as the tool for Triton's undoing.
The winter hits and Lumiere notices the Beast has feelings for Belle, he persuades his master to give Belle the library as a gift which he does and soon a strong relationship begins to form between them. A romantic evening is prepared and their love grows during this time. In an ultimate act of selflessness, Beast allows Belle to return home to tend to her sick father. This crushes Lumiere, along with the rest of the servants, believing the last chance to break the spell has been lost. The castle is soon under attack by a mob led by a rival suitor for Belle, Gaston. Cogsworth and Lumiere lead the servants into a ferocious battle with the mob. At one point, he is almost killed by Gaston's right-hand man, LeFou, but is rescued by Cogsworth, who slides down the banister and pokes Lefou’s rear end. After being rescued by Cogsworth, Lumiere is horrified to see that his girlfriend, Fifi, is grabbed by Tom, one of Gaston’s stooges, who starts plucking some of her white feathers off while laughing maniacally. But unfortunately for Tom, Lumiere comes to Fifi’s rescue by burning Tom’s rear end, causing him to yell in extreme pain, allowing Lumiere to gracefully scoop up his girlfriend in his arms, much to their delight. After that, Lumiere, Cogsworth, and the other servants eventually succeed in driving out the mob, including LeFou.
Ariel confronts Melody and orders her not to go into the sea, but Melody disobeys Ariel and gets to see Morgana. Morgana sees that her time has finally arrived when she sees Sebastian's failing attempts to stop Melody from going out to sea to find out the secret of the locket. So, she sends Undertow, Cloak, and Dagger to bring Melody to her lair. The plan succeeds.
Afterward, having presumably been tipped off by Maurice, he rushes to the West Wing with Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts to aid Beast against Gaston, but arrives too late, just after Gaston fatally stabs Beast and falls to his death. Once Beast dies in Belle’s arms and Belle cries over the loss of her love, Lumiere, Cogsworth, and Mrs. Potts watch as the last petal fall from the enchanted rose and cry as they have supposedly reached the deadline to break the spell. Due to Belle confessing her love for Beast mere seconds before the last petal fell however, magic beams appear and raise Beast off the ground, to heal his injuries and turn him human again while Belle, Lumiere, Cogsworth, and Mrs. Potts watch in amazement. Shortly after, Belle and Adam share their first kiss which results in the rest of the spell breaking, returning the castle to its former beauty, and Lumiere and the rest of the servants to their human forms. At the film's finale during the royal ball, Lumiere and Cogsworth agree to "let bygones be bygones", but then break into an argument over who told who that Belle would break the curse... an argument that quickly turns into a brawl, though they quickly break it off to watch Belle dance with the Prince. After the argument, Lumiere is seen holding hands with Fifi watching Belle and Adam dance. He is also seen in the ending stained glass window.
Morgana welcomes Melody to her lair, offering repulsive food, and reveals the secret of the locket. She then transforms Melody into a mermaid with Ursula's last magic potion that Morgana's been saving for a special occasion. After Melody has gone away, Undertow is angry that she didn't use the potion to change him back. Morgana sternly tells Undertow to "keep his scales on" and that she's still reeling her in. This is where she broke out in a song, "I'm Gonna Get My Wish Tonight!"
Melody arrives back to Morgana's lair to thank her. After being thanked by Melody, Morgana sets the rest of her plan in motion by falsely crying. Morgana reveals that the mermaid spell is temporary. Morgana lies to Melody that "her" trident was "stolen" by a "deranged kleptomaniac" (she's referring to King Triton and his trident) and that "there is no one left to give it back for her". Melody tells Morgana that maybe she could get it back for her. Morgana acts surprised. She shows Melody a map and where the "scoundrel" lives. Melody asks if she means that it wasn't just "an ordinary fish tale" and if it really exists. Morgana says, "Of course it exists. Whoever told you otherwise?" Melody tells Morgana that her mother did. Morgana responds that she's sure Melody's mother didn't mean to be cruel and deceitful. Melody says that she will bring back 'her' trident and that she can count on her. Morgana says, "Be careful, dear! Enjoy those fins!" Then she says softly with an evil grin, "while you can", and chuckles sinisterly.
Morgana sees Melody, Tip and Dash near Atlantica. Morgana sends Cloak and Dagger to go and make sure nothing interferes with Melody's return. She diguises as Patricia and she hypnotizes the boy from the night. She reveals her plan to be queen of the sea like her sister Vanessa, she sees in a mirror and saw a refelection of Morgana. Tip tells Melody that Patricia is really Morgana in diguised and plans to get the stolen trident. While, Melody, Tip and Dash make their way to Arctica, theb sea creatures ruins the celebration where Patricia/Morgana is going to be her cavalier and they broken the spell on the boy and she turns back into Morgana and returns to her lair.
Ariel and Flounder have followed Cloak and Dagger to her lair. Just as Melody is about to give Morgana the trident, Ariel shows up and stops her, frantically. Melody is angry and shocked that Ariel hid the truth about her locket. Morgana and Ariel are trying to convince Melody to give the trident to each other. But Melody, angry at Ariel for hiding the truth about her locket, gives it to Morgana. Morgana cackles maniacally and claims that all the seven seas are at her command. She reveals that Ariel was only trying to protect her from her. Morgana confesses that she herself tricked Melody into giving the trident to her and that King Triton is really the king and is Melody's grandfather. Melody realizes the truth. Morgana blames Melody for the theft after the girl expresses her anger over the deception stating she brought this upon her herself through her pursuit of her personal desires. Then, she imprisons Melody and Flounder into a part of her lair. She tells Melody that her time as a mermaid has just expired. Morgana then heads to the surface.
Morgana rises to the roof of her own lair on top of her new cliff. Prince Eric, his crew, and Scuttle arrive to battle the now-powerful sea witch. However, Morgana destroys Prince Eric's boat. Prince Eric and his crew are forced to stand on the ice, and they survive. King Triton, his guards, and Sebastian arrive to battle the now-powerful sea witch as well. Morgana dares King Triton to hurt her, mocking his threats and then cackles. After Undertow taunts Triton, Sebastian chases Undertow, angrily but Morgana transforms Undertow into a gigantic shark, and Sebastian manages to flee. Prince Eric takes his sword out and asks angrily where's Melody and what she has done with her. Morgana replies, "Oh, you wanna join your daughter? Well, I think that can be arranged" She commands Cloak and Dagger to take Prince Eric to Melody underwater to drown. Scuttle distracts Morgana and Ariel and Sebastian rescue Prince Eric, while Tip and Dash defeat Undertow and rescue Melody and Flounder. Sebastian defeats Cloak and Dagger.
Morgana forces all the creatures she sees to bow down to her. Melody realizes that she has to get the trident herself since Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder, Tip, and Dash are forced to bow down to Morgana, and Prince Eric has been rendered unconscious. Melody realizes that she has legs and that power of Morgana cannot harm her. Morgana then forces King Triton to bow down. Morgana looks up at the sky and says to her mother that she has finally won. As Morgana sentences King Triton to oblivion, Melody surprises Morgana by snatching the trident from her. Morgana eventually tries to take the trident away by tying up one of Melody's feet. She lifts Melody upside down and tries to grab the trident back, but Melody pierces the trident through one of her tentacles, distracting her, and Melody is free. Melody gives the trident back to Triton.
Morgana pushes Melody off the cliff after she throws the trident at Triton, but Dash saves Melody. Triton grabs his trident, says to Morgana, "Never again will you or yours threaten my family. There will be no escape for you! Ever!" and imprisons Morgana in a small iceberg, and she sinks to the depths of the sea to never be seen again. Still alive while she sinks, she whimpers, "Mommy!" because she realizes that she has failed her mother by being defeated. The picture of Ursula sinks along with her, a little far behind.

Articles About Lumiere
Main Series Beauty and the Beast
Non-Canon Disney Heroes: Battle Mode - Disney Sorcerer's Arena

The Casanova of all candelabras. He is a suave, vivacious gentleman and as any gracious host would, treats Belle with warmth and to a spectacular show-stopping number, "Be Our Guest". He is instrumental in helping Belle and Beast fall in love
~ Lumiere's official description

Background

Lumiere is a supporting character in Disney's 1991 animated feature film, Beauty and the Beast. He is the charismatic, yet rebellious, castle's maître'd, who was turned into a candelabra by the Enchantress' curse.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Lumiere's story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!
