Background

Duo Maxwell is a main protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, and is a supporting character in their sequel story, New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop. He is one of the five main heroes of the After Colony and Mars Century timelines of the Gundam series.

Duo eventually became a legendary pilot of mobile suits, notably being a Gundam Pilot, who has expertly piloted two Gundam suits to date; Gundam Deathscythe, and Gundam Deathscythe Hell. Despite these being his main two mobile suits, however, Duo has also shown a great proficiency in piloting other suits as well.

Duo is one of five members of the G Team, alongside Heero Yuy, Trowa Barton, Quatre Raberba Winner, and Chang Wufei. Much like the other members, excluding Heero, Duo eventually decided to discard his Gundam suit and retire as a pilot. He would eventually settle down with a woman named Hilde, and have a son of the same name, Duo Maxwell II. He would go on to be referred to as Father Maxwell, from then on.
