Penetration Damage

Background

Penetration Damage is damage done by a pointed weapon, such as a knife or gun shot. This type of damage is typically seen as durability negation due to pointed weapons stretching the impact area and crushing it, weakening the tensile strength enough to easily create an entrance wound area.

Piercing damage varies depending on whether it's based on physically piercing a target, or through supernatural means.

Types

• Type 1: Physical Penetration: The user pierces a target with a sharp weapon such as a sword or firearm, weakening the inflicted area enough to easily pass through the target.
  • Examples: The Master Sword, the Power of Love, the Needle Lazer, Vampire Killer, and the Shining Laser

• Type 2: Supernatural Penetration: Supernatural Penetration is often a pointed weapon or attack that does not stop regardless of how many targets they pierce. Often times, this type is called Intangible Attacks due to how easily they pass through physical matter.
  • Examples: The Arrow of Light (Kid Icarus), The Last Prism, and the Bougainvillea Mode Hyper Megadeath Particle Cannon

Limatations

• Penetrating damage struggles against armor due to the tensile strength being far greater than flesh (Look to Bulletproof for more explanation)
• The power behind the piercing point might not be powerful enough to be properly used in an applicable scenario.
