Background
The Giant Spaceship was the headquarters and mode of transportation of the Dark Matter Thieves. It crashed after its power core was shattered as a result of Saitama and Boros' clash. After its destruction, the ship was salvaged by Bofoi, who uses it to develop new technology.
When the ship first appeared before Earth, it hovered over City A, shooting a single bombardment that destroyed 99.8% of the city in an instant. The S-Class Heroes tried various strategies to bring it down, with Saitama tearing 23% of the ship apart from the inside without being able to make it fall. This was due to it having a power sphere that allows it to stay afloat no matter how much damage it sustains.
General Information
Name: No Official Name (The encyclopedia calls it "The Giant Spaceship That Destroyed City A"[1])
Origin: One-Punch Man
First Appearance: One-Punch Man Alien Conquerors Arc
Age: More than 20 years old (Boros used the ship to travel across the universe to defeat everyone and find a strong opponent, it took them 20 years to get to Earth from an unknown part of the universe[2])
Ammo: Unknown
Creator: Unknown
Pilots: Dark Matter Thieves
Notable Individuals: Boros, Gerygunashoop, Melzargard, Groribas
Size: According to Genos' notes, the size of the Dark Matter Thieves' ship is 9,230 m x 15,024 m[4].
Weight: Unknown
Material: Special Metal Alloy (The ship is made from a special metal alloy not found on Earth, being stronger then steel[5])
Status: Destroyed (It was destroyed during the fight between Saitama and Boros[6])
Date of Destruction: End of One-Punch Man Alien Conquerors Arc
Threat Level: Cosmic Threat (Boros used the ship to travel across the universe to defeat everyone and find a strong opponent[7], taking over the universe[8])
Codex Statistics
Grade: A (A ship that can level an entire city within an instant and can withstand blows from things far stronger then it as long as it has its power core)
Tier: At least 7-A
Cardinality: Finite
Dimensionality: 3-D
Attack Potency: At least Metropolis level (Buster) (With its gunshells it leveled City A within an instant[9] being noted to have destroyed 99.8% of it in an instant[10])
Durability: At least Metropolis level (Withstood one of its shells being shot back at it[11] )
Travel Speed: Faster Than Light (Boros used the ship to travel across the universe to defeat everyone and find a strong opponent, it took them 20 years to get to Earth from an unknown part of the universe[12])
Attack Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Noted by Melzargard that retreat was impossible once the bullets shoot out to even the likes of Bang and Atomic Samurai, where Atomic Samura can draw his sword and[13] do over a hundred slashes[14], to where a man who can draw his sword faster than the speed of sound couldn't perceive his movements[15], resulting in these speeds)
Range: Tens of Kilometers through sheer size (Covered a large portion of City A with its sheer size[16]. According to Genos' notes, the size of the Dark Matter Thieves' ship is 9,230 m x 15,024 m[17])
Powers and Techniques
Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Large Size (Mountain Sized; Covered a large portion of City A with its sheer size[18]), Flight (Naturally flew over City A when it shot down its bullets[19]), Spaceflight (Boros used the ship to travel across the universe to defeat everyone and find a strong opponent, it took them 20 years to get to Earth from an unknown part of the universe[20]), Curtain Fire (Can shoot out dozens of bullets that levels a city in an instant[21]), Supernatural Resilience (Boros noted that even after Saitama destroyed 23% of the ship that ship will not fall unless the power sphere is destroyed, allowing it to take[22] massive damage without faltering)
Notable Techniques
- Bullet Bombardment: The Giant Spaceship possessed incredible firepower with its massive bullets. Shooting countless bullets that are all capable of leveling a city in an instant. A single bombardment was capable of destroying 99.8% of A-City in an instant.
Other
Weaknesses: If its power sphere is destroyed, the ship will fall[23].
Note
- The ship does not tank Saitama's attacks because of its durability, it is directly noted by Saitama that he has been tearing the ship apart but it won't fall with Boros noting that even after Saitama destroyed 23% of the ship that ship will not fall unless the power sphere is destroyed, thus it does not scale in anyway to Saitama landing on it as that greatly damaged the ship[24]. Along with Tatsumaki redirecting the bullets back to it greatly damaging it[25].
Trivia
- The giant labyrinth in the Dark Matter Thieves spaceship was credited to Kazuo Nomura, the creator of the world's most difficult maze[26].
- Murata stated that it takes around 4 hours to draw one panel of the spaceship (round up to 6 hours when including the sketches) as a fun fact on his stream. He did not let his assistant handle this part and he kept redrawing.
- The ship is made from a special metal alloy not found on Earth[27].
Saitama was the first intruder to reach Boros' throne room[28].
