Maverick, known as Irregular in Japan, is a term from the Mega Man franchise with varying meaning, generally being used for Reploids and Mechaniloids that are active threats to the safety of humans and other Reploids. The antagonists of the Mega Man X series are all recognized as Mavericks, while in the Mega Man (Franchise) series characters unjustly labelled as Mavericks are allies. The term is also used for wild machines in the Mega Man (Franchise) series.
