Background

Digital Immortality is the ability for a user's consciousness, essence, or entire existence to persist indefinitely within digital or virtual environments. Rather than existing as a biological or physical being, the user’s mind is stored, replicated, or operated entirely within cyberspace, artificial networks, or virtual simulations. This grants immunity to conventional physical death or destruction, as the user can survive so long as their data or code remains intact.

Destruction of the user’s digital avatar or active projection does not equate to permanent death if backups, replication protocols, or distributed storage exist. Many users with this ability can transfer themselves between systems, reconstruct from backups, or evolve into more resilient digital forms, effectively becoming a living program or AI.
