IMSCARED - A Pixelated Nightmare

Background
IMSCARED - A Pixelated Nightmare (can also be spelled as Imscared or IMSCARED) is a horror game developed by Italian creator Ivan Zanotti using Game Maker 8, FL Studio, and MS Paint. Known for its complexity and ambiguity, the game's plot can be difficult to interpret. Featuring a pixelated art style, it creates an "imscared" folder on the desktop, adding files that are necessary for progression.
The original IMSCARED centers on escaping a room. Upon attempting to leave, the screen displays the message: "I need a Heart in order to open it." As the player explores and eventually locates the heart, a strange floating head suddenly jumpscares them, triggering a fake Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) or closing the game in earlier versions. As the game progresses, similar unsettling and confusing events unfold.
Later editions add far more levels and even a new character who is trying to breach into the IMSCARED canon to port the game to mobile devices and consoles.
