Elias
Elias is the main protagonist of Pokemon Aurora, a spin-off game in the Pokemon Dusk Series. He was a trainer wanting to catch a new Pokemon in the Safari Zone when suddenly an outbreak happens, now he must survive with his newly caught Pokemon and find a way to escape.
Appearance
General Description: Elias has grey hair.
Clothing/Outfit: A red sleeveless jacket with white in the middle. Grey shorts.
Personality
- Pokemon Lover: Elias has a strong desire to become a Pokemon Trainer. He visited the Pokemon Safari to catch his Pokemon and start his journey, but is only willing to catch something special rather than any Pokemon.[1][1].
- Encouraging: Elias is very encouraging to his fellow trainers, telling them not to worry about just catching strong Pokemon.[2][1].
Goals
- Become a Pokemon Trainer (Succeeded).
Relationships
Tauros
Elias first found the Tauros in the safari zone, being one of the three Pokémon he wanted to catch.
When going to the secret area in the safari zone, he runs into a woman claiming to be a member of Team Rocket attacking a man with an infected Persian and calls Tauros to attack him.
When the zombie outbreak happens he uses Tauros to fight and kill the zombies.
Elias notes to Tauros how he's shocked that Tauros listens to him as he was always laughed at because his Pokémon never listened to him.
When the people in the safe house beg him to go outside to check the situation he notes he'll only do it if Tauros agrees to it.
Later when getting to another safe house, a group of infected Tauros surrounded them and Tauros risked their life to save them, getting killed by two of the infected Tauros.
Milo
Elias receives Milo from Natalie after she was bitten and knew she didn't have long for the world[1].
He initially refuses to let Growlithe to fight against the Pokemon due to how he lost his Tauros but Growlithe shows the resolve to want to fight.

Elemental Attacks allow him to affect characters that are Far Stronger (Elemental attacks allow for fights where Ethan's Quilava could defeat a[4] big infected Venasaur[4] due to it being a plant-type which is naturally weak to fire attacks[4] and being a zombie which is already weak against fire[4]. A keychain that holds multiple keys for areas of the Safari Zone. One of the keys opens a secret hatch[1]. |
Notable Techniques
Earthquake
An attack used by Tauros to cause the entire ground to quake, it killed an infected Persian in one shot[1]. Successful hits cause the enemies to be knocked back[1].
Tackle
A melee attack used by Milo against the infected[1]. It causes the enemy to be knocked back.
Ember
A ranged special attack that allows Milo to hit opponents without getting close to them[1]. However, it doesn't cause knockback.
Flamethrower
Gotten through TM35 allowing Milo to learn Flamethrower[1]. Flamethrower is a charged attack that deals double the damage and causes knockback[1].
Other
Standard Tactics: Elias utilizes Tauros to fight against enemies, standing behind Tauros while letting Tauros lead the way[1]; if Tauros at all dies/is fainted, then Elias effectively has no battle strategies left and will lose himself[1].
Weaknesses
- Elias Weaknesses: Elias effectively cannot fight against the zombies if Tauros dies[1].
- Pokemon Weaknesses: Pokemon can only attack if given orders to, such as when a Rocket Grunt was choking Ethan to death and Brando did not attack until Ethan commanded Brando to[3].
- Tauros Weaknesses: Tauros cannot use attacks until the blue AP bar is filled[8], which an in-universe thing would simply be Tauros needs a quick rest before they can throw out the next attack[8]. As a normal type, his attacks aren't very effective on rock types and steel types and have no effect on ghost types. As a normal type, he is weak to fighting type attacks.
- Milo Weaknesses: Milo cannot use attacks consecutively and needs to wait for the blue AP bar to be filled. As a fire type his attacks aren't very effective on other fire types, water types, rock types, and dragon types. As a fire type he is weak to water type, ground type, and rock type attacks.
Note
Explanations
The Infection
The infection is a disease that spread across Johto due to the incompetence of Team Rocket.
The infection was caused by an artifact which Team Rocket stole[3]. Team Rocket read the text saying "The power to make everyone weak-willed and dangerous" and interpreted this as they would be able to mind control people[3].
Team Rocket raided the Goldenrod City Radio Tower to link up the artifact to the radio tower and spread its waves across all of Johto[3].
These effects started reviving recently deceased humans and Pokemon[3].
It's noted by Professor Elm that every single person and Pokemon in the country is infected regardless of whether they were bitten or not, so if they die they will turn into a zombie[3].
Trivia
- Like Dave, Elias is another original character whose sprite is based off the ace trainers from Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. His badge screen uses a sprite from the gen 3 games.
- Despite wanting to be a Pokemon Trainer, Elias is not very knowledgeable of Pokemon from other regions[2] with his most likely picks being Scyther, Kangaskhan, or Tauros[2].
- Elias is a little scared of Spearow due to them always looking grim like they're about to attack someone[2].
