Background
The Witch's House is a multimedia franchise made by Fummy and translated into English by vgperson.
In The Witch's House, Viola (a thirteen year old girl) finds herself outside of the witch's mansion and is unable to leave without first venturing into the mansion and confronting the witch.
The initial release of the game was on October 3, 2012, and is freely available to be downloaded and played from vgperson's website. This version of the game uses an older version of RPG Maker called RPG Maker VX.
Following the release of the game, Fummy released a prequel novel;a by the name The Witch's House: The Diary of Ellen was originally released on October 31, 2013, in Japanese before being released in English on October 31, 2019. This was later adapted into a manga under the same name with the help of Yuna Kagesaki (creator of Chibi Vampire) starting December 9, 2017, in Japanese and later into English in January 22, 2019.
The Witch's House MV is a remaster of the original freeware title (that was made in RPG Maker MV) which released on October 31, 2018, on Steam for PC (later released on mobile devices and consoles as well) and features newly remade graphics, two new difficulty modes, and additional story beats for one of the important characters in the game.
