True Death

From The Codex
Jump to navigationJump to search

Yogiri's instant death ability kills one regardless of if they are immune to death or "lack a concept of death" as he essentially decides what death is.

Background

True Death is the power to enact irreversible, all-encompassing destruction upon any entity, no matter how immune they are to conventional or metaphysical forms of death. Unlike standard lethal abilities, True Death transcends the need to negate individual protections. It imposes death as an inescapable law — one that overrides all forms of existence, defense, and causality.

This power allows the user to eliminate beings who possess otherwise insurmountable safeguards: those with Regeneration, Immortality, Resurrection, adaptive countermeasures, Acausality, separation from reality, those that can replace each other if the other one dies, those that can swap bodies if they die, having the inability to die due to their lack of existence in any definable form, etcetera.

Unlike Fate Manipulation or Existence Erasure, which may still respect narrative or ontological loopholes, True Death ignores all such barriers. It is the axiomatic idea of finality, thus making it a sub-power of Axiom Manipulation.

Also Called

  • Absolute Death
  • Final Death
  • Oblivion Enforcement
  • Eternal Erasure
  • Inevitable End

Possible Applications

  • Ignores all types of Immortality
  • Ignores any form of Resurrection or rebirth, even if the being is fated to return
  • Counters all degrees of Regeneration, even the highest of regeneration
  • Ignores adaptive techniques, negating both physical and conceptual adaptation
  • Eliminates beings with Personal Nonexistence or Ayin-like traits
  • Can destroy entities that are detached from causality, reality, or time (including Acausality, Existence Continuity, & Reality Separation)
  • Bypasses multiple anchors, realities, or narrative bindings, leaving no version or echo of the target
  • Removes layered, transdimensional, or omniversal presences across all planes simultaneously

Practical Uses

  • Completely ends unkillable beings or endlessly reviving gods
  • Prevents recursive or paradoxical resurrection loops from functioning
  • Allows users to overcome threats reliant on another existence

Potential Variations

  • Multilayered True Death: Destroys physical, spiritual, temporal, and conceptual selves simultaneously
  • Narrative True Death: Bypasses plot armor, destiny, prophecy, and metafictional survival mechanics
  • Ontological True Death: Removes the concept, identity, and presence of the target from all frameworks
  • Transcendent True Death: Affects beings who reside beyond the scope of space, time, logic, or existence itself

Possible Limitations

  • May require sufficient understanding or contact with the target’s full nature (especially if anchored across dimensions or narrative tiers)
  • Might be sealed, forbidden, or restricted in certain cosmologies due to its absolute finality
  • Could be ineffective if narrative, cosmological, or meta-authority explicitly denies the outcome
  • Some beings may possess unreachable cores or require the user to exist on equivalent narrative or metaphysical strata to affect them
