| ~ Dr. Robert Scranton's audio logs from SCP-3001 |
Background
SCP-3001 is a hypothesized paradoxical parallel/pocket "non-dimension" accessible through the creation of a momentary Class-C "Broken Entry" Wormhole. Initially discovered on January 2, 2000, at Site-120 when Dr. Scranton was transported to SCP-3001 after unexpected seismic activity damaged several active LSS. Dr. Scranton theorized it as "two realities as two pieces of paper stuck together. This place is the space squished between, like that would happen if you fell into a hole crossing a bridge from Point A to Point B."
Appearance
The dimension is "dark. Really dark. As in, this little red light that shows my words are actually being recorded is the only visible light in this entire place". Dr. Scranton could not see his hands and could barely see the control panel. The environment is described as "like I'm walking through really thick black gel", with enough tension to keep one on a "surface", but if imagining pressing down hard enough, one can descend.
General Information
Name: SCP-3001, Red Reality
Origin: SCP Foundation
First Appearance: January 2, 2000
Company: SCP Foundation Wiki
Creator: OZ Ouroboros
Pronouns: It
Age: Unknown (discovered in 2000)
Homeworld: N/A (Pocket dimension between realities)
Classification: Euclid-class anomaly, Class-C "Broken Entry" Wormhole destination, Reality gap
State of Being: Pocket dimension
Physiology: Non-Euclidean space
In-Universe Creator: Dr. Robert Scranton.
Size: Initially believed infinite, later observed to have a collapsing boundary of three kilometers in radius
Environment: Almost completely devoid of any matter with extremely low Hume Level of 0.032
Resources: None
Status: Active
Alignment: Unaligned
Protection Level: None (Actively harmful to inhabitants)
Threat Level: Street Threat (Dangerous to individuals who enter)
Codex Statistics
Cardinality: Finite (Observable boundaries of three kilometers)
Dimensionality: 3-D (Three-dimensional space with degraded physics)
Range: Universal (Affects all matter within its boundaries)
Intelligence: Mindless (Non-sentient dimension)
Knowledge: None
Effects
- Reality Warping (Causes matter to gradually approach SCP-3001's own Hume Level, resulting in severe tissue/structural damage as the matter's own Hume Field begins to disintegrate)
- Deconstruction (Causes matter to decay at an extremely low rate, organisms can lose more than 70% of their body's tissue and still operate normally)
- Law Manipulation and Physics Manipulation (Contradicts Kejel's Laws of Reality)
- Time Manipulation (Time barely passes in the dimension)
- Perception Manipulation and Darkness Manipulation (Complete darkness prevents visual perception)
- Biological Manipulation (Damage that would otherwise prove fatal does not impede biological function, inhabitants don't need to eat to stay alive)
- Spatial Manipulation (Navigation is largely affected by conscious impulses to travel in a certain direction)
- Immortality Bestowal (Life and Death Immunity; Prevents death even from suicide attempts, and the body will sitll function no matter how much has decayed)
Notable Features
- Inhabitants: Dr. Robert Scranton (survived for at least five years, 11 months, and 21 days)
- Areas: No distinct areas; uniform void throughout
- Objects: LSS Control Panel brought in with Dr. Scranton
Other
Issues:
- Extremely low Hume Level of 0.032
- Almost completely devoid of any matter
- No bottom to the dimension
- Three to four years before irreversible Hume Field decay
- Hume field equalizes over time, causing matter disintegration
