I was told that in this place at the ends of the world--there exists a being who can control the souls of the dead.
~ Wander to Dormin

Background

Wander was a young man whose past was shrouded in mystery. One fateful day, he travelled to the Shrine of Worship in the Forbidden Lands atop his steed, Agro, as he heard rumours that the deity residing there could return someone’s soul. Wander had lost a woman named Mono, who he claimed was sacrificed for her cursed fate, and sought to bring her back.

Once Wander appeared at the Shrine of Worship and placed Mono atop it, he was approached by a mysterious deity named Dormin. Dormin claimed that he could indeed resurrect Mono, but only if Wander did something for him. Sixteen colossi were spread out across the Forbidden Lands, and Wander was to slay all of them for Dormin.

Desperate to save Mono, Wander agreed to the task, taking his Ancient Sword and leaving immediately. After a very long adventure, Wander was successfully able to track down and slay all sixteen colossi. However, when he returned to the Shrine of Worship, Wander found that his body was cursed and twisted. In truth, each colossus was a segment of Dormin’s soul, and Wander had absorbed another soul with every new colossus he defeated.

A man named Lord Emon and his guards from the outside world appeared, seemingly having been tracking Wander, and shamed him for having become an ungodly soul who played right into Dormin’s hands. Seeing the opportunity at least, Dormin reformed himself using the sixteen soul segments within Wander’s body, and was essentially resurrected.

However, Dormin was unable to do much before Lord Emon took the Ancient Sword and began fleeing the temple. Using a spell cast by the sword, Dormin’s darkness was ripped off of Wander, and both he and Wander fell into a pool of light. All that remained was Wander, now reverted to infant form, with a horn growing out of his head as a sign of the sin he committed.

As a cruel twist of fate, however, it seemed that Dormin had indeed held up his end of the bargain. Mono awoke, now fully resurrected, and accompanied by Agro. She picked up the baby Wander, and walked off with him.

Powers and Stats

Name: Wander

Origin: Shadow of the Colossus

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown, physically young adult

Classification: Swordsman, Ungodly Soul

Attack Potency: At least Wall level (Is able to harm Cenobia, who can smash its head against stone pillars without hurting itself), likely Small Building level (Quickly defeated Quadratus, who casually walked through a massive stone wall) | Small Building level (Due to containing the sixteen pieces of Dormin’s soul, he should be superior to the sixteen colossi; including Gaius, who is the size of a building), possibly Planet level (It is implied that the Forbidden Lands are an entire world, created or controlled by Dormin. Wander, containing the sixteen parts of Dormin’s soul, would scale to this)

Dimensionality: 3-D

Travel Speed: Athletic Human, Superhuman with Agro (The average speed of a horse is 88 km/h) | Superhuman (Containing Dormin’s soul, he should be above the other colossi; including Avion, who can travel at these speeds), Superhuman with Agro

Combat Speed: Athletic Human, Speed of Light with the Ancient Sword (The Ancient Sword can summon light, which can eradicate and seal entities) | Superhuman (Through scaling to Avion), Speed of Light with the Ancient Sword

Reaction Speed: At least Athletic Human, possibly FTL (Wander outpaces the targeting of the colossi. The colossi are referred to as beings created from light; the idols that represent the colossi are filled with light; they also produce light beams where they have fallen; Dormin, who is the combined form of the colossi, is represented by a ray of light) | At least Speed of Light (Scales to the other colossi due to containing Dormin’s soul), possibly FTL (Should react as fast as his unpossessed form)

Lifting Strength: Unknown

Striking Strength: At least Wall Class, likely Small Building Class | Small Building Class, possibly Planet level

Durability: At least Wall level (Could tank a headbutt from Cenobia, who is able to knock over stone pillars), likely Small Building level (Survived an attack from Avion, who was flying with this much force) | Small Building level (Contains the soul of Dormin, making him superior to the colossi; including Gaius, who is the size of a building), possibly Planet level

Stamina: Superhuman+ (Wander travelled the Forbidden Lands and slayed all sixteen colossi; the adventure clearly taking quite a long time, as seen by the corpses of the colossi, which are beginning to grow fauna and be covered in dirt) | Limitless (Possessed by Dormin, who is a deity that had to be sealed for an eternity to stop his rampage)

Range: Standard melee range, Hundreds of meters with bow & arrow, Tens of kilometers with teleportation and the Ancient Sword’s light rays

Powers and Abilities:

All previous abilities, Blessed and Healing (Dormin grants Wander knowledge and power. Wander will be granted full health if he prays to Dormin), Teleportation (Dormin will teleport Wander back to the Shrine of Worship), Possession (Wander was possessed by the dead, and due to essentially becoming a Colossus, has the power to do so to others), Immortality (Type 4; Wander can survive lethal wounds due to Dormin’s influence), Darkness Manipulation (Dormin shrouds Wander in darkness), Transmutation (Dormin transformed Wander’s body into his own)

Magic (The Ancient Sword wields magical power), Deconstruction (The Ancient Sword split Dormin’s body into sixteen segments), Power Nullification (Of dark/evil energy. It could nullify Dormin’s powers by segmenting it sixteen times), Sealing and Soul Manipulation (The Ancient Sword sealed Dormin’s power for eternity), Transmutation and possible Age Manipulation (The spell of the Ancient Sword transformed Wander into an infant), Air Manipulation (The Ancient Sword’s spell created a whirlwind that pulled Wander toward it), Existence Erasure (Type 2; The Ancient Sword’s light could erase dark entities), Light Manipulation (The Ancient Sword can gather light around it, which will point towards a source of dark magic; it can also create a whirlwind of light. The Sword of the Sun can create light even when in pitch darkness), Darkness Manipulation (The Ancient Sword pulls the darkness off of Wander. The Sword of Dormin produces dark energy), Regeneration (The Life Sword and the Cloak of Fate both increase the rate of Wander’s regeneration), Extrasensory Perception (Ancient Bow is able to reveal the weak points of Wander’s foes. The Lizard Detection Stone knows the location of every lizard in the world), Explosion Manipulation (The Flash Arrow explodes on impact), Statistics Amplification (The Shaman’s Mask and Shaman’s Cloak decreases the amount of damage Wander receives. Masks of Power and Strength, and the Cloak of Force, increase the damage he can output), Invisibility (Cloak of Deception turns Wander completely invisible when worn)

Standard Equipment:

Swords

  • Ancient Sword: This is a sword that was used several years ago to seal Dormin away. Wander stole this sword, unknowingly enacting a forbidden spell. This sword will gather light that points towards colossi.
  • Life Sword: Identical to the Ancient Sword, except it increases Wander’s health regeneration.
  • Sword of the Sun: This blade’s ability to gather light is much more potent than other swords. It can even create beams of light when Wander is in pitch darkness.
  • Queen’s Sword: A sword from Ico, which deals much more damage to colossi than any other. It can take down even the strongest colossus by striking its vitals only a few times.
  • Sword of Dormin: The most powerful sword Wander has access to, which can fell colossi with only a few strikes. This sword is enveloped in Dormin’s energy, and gives off darkness as opposed to the Ancient Sword’s light.

Bow & Arrows

  • Bow: This is Wander’s usual bow & arrow, which he is incredibly proficient in using. Wander can use this to not only attract the attention of a colossus, but snipe lizards from trees.
  • Ancient Bow: This is a bow that reveals the weak points of enemies through aiming, notably the Magic Sigil of a colossus.
  • Flash Arrow: A special type of arrow that explodes on impact. This arrow is powerful enough to actually damage colossi.
  • Whistling Arrow: An arrow that creates a high-pitched whistling noise when it is fired. Wander uses this to distract colossi away from him.

Other

  • Harpoon of Thunder: This is a harpoon that Wander uses to throw at opponents, so powerful that it can significantly harm a colossus.

Cloaks

  • Cloak of Deception: When worn, the Cloak of Deception will make Wander completely invisible.
  • Cloak of Force: This cloak increases the amount of damage that Wander can deal with his swords.
  • Shaman’s Cloak: Wearing this cloak increases his defence; significantly reducing the amount of damage that Wander will receive.
  • Cloak of Fate: This cloak increases the rate of Wander’s health regeneration.
  • Masks

    • Mask of Power: Much like the Cloak of Force, wearing this mask increases the amount of damage that Wander deals with his swords.
    • Mask of Strength: This mask also increases the amount of damage that Wander deals with his swords.
    • Shaman’s Mask: Much like the Shaman’s Cloak, this mask reduces the amount of damage Wander receives.

*Lizard Detection Stone: A small golden statue that will immediately reveal the location of lizards to Wander, throughout the entire world.

  • Fruit Tree Map: This tree-shaped map allows for Wander to see the location of every single fruit tree in a location.
  • Cloth of Desperation: This cloth functions as a parachute or glider, which Wander can deploy after jumping off of a cliff in order to sail through the sky.

  • *Agro: Wander’s horse and sole companion. Agro is a large black horse who is so incredibly loyal to Wander that she will not only bring him across the Forbidden Lands, but also sacrifice her life for him.

Intelligence: Genius (Wander was able to proficiently destroy sixteen wildly different colossi, each holding a piece of intelligence of Dormin, without any experience fighting anything of the sort beforehand) | At least Supergenius (Wields the soul of Dormin and is given advice from him as well; Dormin is a fairly vague deity, but knows almost everything about the Forbidden Lands, as well as the weak points of each colossus)

Weaknesses: Wander, although very tenacious, is easily manipulated and blinded by his goals. In his journey to rescue Mono, he fell right into Dormin’s plan and gave him exactly what he wanted, resulting in Wander’s possession.
