Background
The European Hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus), also known as the West European hedgehog or common hedgehog, is a hedgehog species native to Europe from Iberia and Italy northwards into Scandinavia and westwards into the British Isles. It is a generally common and widely distributed species that can survive across a wide range of habitat types. It is a well-known species, and a favourite in European gardens, both for its endearing appearance and its preference for eating a range of garden pests.
Statistics
Tier: 10-C, 9-C with spines
Name: European Hedgehog Erinaceus Europaeus
Origin: The Real Wolrd
Sex: Varies (Can be Male or Female)
Age: Varies (Usually live up to 6-10 years)
Classification: Mammal
Status: Active (European Hedgehogs are not endangered[1])
Alignment: Unaligned (Animals have no real moral compass asides from very primitive ones, thus they fall under no true alignment as they're not inherently evil, good, or neutral)
Dimensionality: 3-D
Attack Potency: Below Average Human level (European Hedgehogs usually hunt on bugs but will also eat small reptile or rodents[2]), Peak Human level with spines (When actively defending themself, their spines can penetrate skin[3])
Durability: Below Average Human level, Higher with spines (European Hedgehogs' spines allows them to survive blows and impacts of 200 times the force that would otherwise crush them)
Striking Strength: Below Average Human Class
Lifting Strength: Below Average Human
Travel Speed: Below Average Human (European Hedgehogs are capable of reaching speed of 4 metres per second.[4])
Combat Speed: Below Average Human
Reaction Speed: Below Average Human
Stamina: High (European Hedgehogs can cover 8 miles or more in an evening[5])
Range: Below Standard Melee
Intelligence: Animalistic
Powers and Abilities
Standard Equipment
Nothing Notable
Optional Equipment
Poison from poisonous plants
Other
Standard Tactics: European Hedgehogs aren't fighter and thus will generally try to run away from their opponent or curl up in to a spiky ball
Weaknesses: The European Hedgehog's face and belly aren't covered in spines and thus are wide open for attacks and they naturally are nocturnal animals

- ↑ At the moment the European hedgehog, Erinaceus europaeus, is not endangered (in danger of vanishing in the wild). In parts of its huge range, which stretches east to forests around Moscow and south to the olive groves of the Mediterranean, it remains locally common.
- ↑ European hedgehogs are omnivores, but feed mostly on insects. They prefer beetles, earwigs, ants, bees, wasps, butterflies and moths, and will also eat snails, cockroaches, crickets, grasshoppers, eggs, lizards, frogs, snakes, small rodents, and carrion.
- ↑ They have sharp needles all over their backs which can penetrate the skin. It will often itch if a needle does and may cause a rash.
- ↑ If you’ve seen a hedgehog, it might be surprising to learn that they only reach speeds of around 4 miles per hour, which is the equivalent of a very brisk walk for humans and is considerably slower than other animals of the same size. Guinea pigs, for example, can reach speeds of 6 miles per hour.
- ↑ While hedgehogs do not run especially quickly for their size, they make up for it in stamina. They cover 8 miles or more in an evening, foraging for food: especially impressive when you consider they are only usually awake for 6 hours.
- ↑ When foraging, hedgehogs rely primarily on their senses of smell and hearing because they have weak eyesight, though their eyes are good for night-time vision.
- ↑ An adult hedgehog will have around 7,000 spines. Pat Morris was one of the first hedgehog researchers to verify this figure. In his book Hedgehogs, he tells us he did this by cutting the spines off several dead hedgehogs and counting them!
- ↑ Hedgehogs are amazing little mammals that have some tricks that help them avoid predators. Hedgehogs are immune to certain poisonous plants.
