Background
The Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu, also known as the Weapons of Spinjitzu or simply as the Golden Weapons, were a set of powerful weapons created by The First Spinjitzu Master and used to create Ninjago. After the First Spinjitzu Master's escape from the Realm of Oni and Dragons, he forged the four weapons in the mountains of the Golden Peaks. He formed the gold into four weapons. A scythe, a sword, a pair of nunchucks, and a pair of shurikens.
At the Temple of Light, The First Spinjitzu Master imbued the Golden Weapons with powers of Creation, giving the power of a specific element of creation to each weapon, connecting the Nunchucks with a strand of lightning. The weapons became the Scythe of Quakes, the Shurikens of Ice, the Nunchucks of Lightning, and the Sword of Fire. He used them to create the landmass of Ninjago, and entrusted them to his two sons, Wu and Garmadon to protect them.
However, Garmadon was succumbing to a powerful force. A corrupting force, courtesy of The Great Devourer, let evil flow through his veins. Unable to control this dark temptation, Garmadon attempted to claim the weapons for himself, before being stopped by Wu. They fought over the weapons, their clash creating thunderstorms, darkening the area. The battle ended with Garmadon being banished to the Underworld, his body transformed forever.
Following his brother's banishment, Wu hid the weapons throughout Ninjago, instructing a dragonic protector to guard them. Wu also created a map to the weapons, allowing them to be accessed if needed, and entrusted it to one Elemental Master of Fire - Ray, father to Kai.
Many years later, Garmadon instructed the Skulkin, an army of undead skeletons, to retrieve the weapons for him. With the weapons in danger, he instructed his own team of Elemental Masters - the famous Ninja -, to collect them before Garmadon was able to. Eventually, the Ninja succeeeded, but with Garmadon freed from the Underworld, it would be dangerous to part from the weapons. Thus, the Ninja - Kai, Cole, Jay and Zane - each took their own weapon and vowed to protect them.

All previous abilities to a far greater extent, Existence Erasure (Too powerful for a single regular person to hold on their own, and will erase anyone who tries to do so [2]), Resurrection (The Mega Weapon - All 4 Golden Weapons fused into one - were able to revive Captain Soto and his crew from death), Time Travel (The Mega Weapon allowed Garmadon to travel back in time), Time Manipulation, Elemental Manipulation, Duplication (The Mega Weapon was able to create perfect duplications of the ninja [3]), Matter Manipulation, Portal Creation (When Samukai was destroyed by all four Golden Weapons, a portal to the Realm of Madness was opened)
