Paper Mario: Color Splash is one of the games where it focuses on paint as the main mechanic.

Background

Paint, also referred to as goop, is a concept within the Mario series that has appeared in Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Paper Mario: Color Splash, Paper Mario: The Origami King, and Bowser's Fury.

Paint has shown to have a variety of effects when either applied or removed, primarily being that a being with no paint cannot function and is devoid of all.

Types

• Removal: Anyone and everyone within the Mario series can remove paint by simply attacking you.

Users: Everyone within the Super Mario Bros. franchise.

• Splashing: Certain characters can return or splash paint at you, which can cause different effects.

Users: Mario, Bowser Junior, Roy

Capabilities

• Conceptual Manipulation: Paint can remove or add concept from you, as paint is shown to be all of land, liquid, life, blood, organs, skin, mind, memory, emotions, space, souls, and more.

• Life Manipulation & Death Manipulation: Paint is all of life, and removal of it can cause a person or object to have no life within, having their concept of life be removed.

• Blood Manipulation: Paint makes up all of blood within someone, removing it is the same as removing their blood.

• Mind Manipulation & Memory Manipulation: Paint makes up the mind, as paint beings can directly speak to your mind by coloring your thoughts. Loss of paint can also remove your mind and memories.

• Spatial Manipulation: Paint makes up all of space. Removing it makes space as if it was solid.

• Soul Manipulation: Paint makes up souls and ghosts. Removing it is the equivalent of destroying your soul.

• Empathic Manipulation: Paint makes up all emotions. Removing it would mean the removal of emotion.

• Power Nullification: Paint makes up the ability to use powers. Removing it would mean the removal of using powers.

Portal Creation: Paint can create portals to different locations.

• Psuedo-Forcefield Creation: Paint can create thick substances to block attacks.

• Electricity Manipulation: Paint can create electric goop.

• Fire Manipulation: Paint can create fire goop.

• Water Manipulation: Paint can create slimy water that damages anyone inside.

• Acid Manipulation: Paint can create acid.

• Mind Control, Corruption, Size Manipulation, & Power Bestowal: Black paint can control someone's mind and corrupt them, while also increasing their size and gain new abilities.

• Creation: Paint can create creatures, ghosts, and objects made out of paint.

• Pocket Reality Manipulation: Paint can create pocket dimensions.

• Sealing: Paint can seal people or objects within paint.

• Matter Manipulation: Paint can reduce matter.

• Empathic Manipulation: Paint can change people's emotions.

• Broadway Force Paint can force others to dance along.

• Power Nullification: Paint can make it so you can only use abilities that are the same color as the paint on you.

• Poison Manipulation: Paint can inflict poison.

• Regeneration: Mid-Godly. Paint has shown regeneration properties, and since it can restore non-physical things, it should be able to regenerate your concept as well.
