Background

Supernatural Range is the ability or effect of extending the range of one's weapons or physical attacks. Usually in most cases with melee weapons, the force of the weapon actually extends the range of it. Because it is invisible, it’s quite normal for opponents to be caught off guard by the attack.

However in lots of other cases, it’s an actual ability for the weapon to have an extra effect where the blade is extended by an invisible force. Users may be cable of attacking a target from a distance without actually moving to that location. Often this can give off the impression that the user is really fast, when in reality they don’t actually move that quickly.

Applications

  • Physical Extension: Physical Extension is the application in which a character makes a physically visible construct or projectile as an extension of their attack(s). This can often be seen as an energy-like aura that enlarges the attack. These attacks are still bound by physics and perception however.
  • Metaphysical Extension: This application is unique in that the character can interact and attack others without making any form of physical contact. Due to the nature of this particular application, the attacks are usually completely invisible and, in major cases, can completely ignore space itself.
  • Aspatial Extension: This application is the most potent variant of the three, and allows the user to attack the very existence of abstract and aspatial entities. This can often be seen in the form of ignoring universal laws, or even targeting concepts themselves without even physically interacting with them.

Limitations

  • Those with the ability to extend their attacks may indirectly be affected as they would if they normally physically attacked the target.
