Light Manipulation (Is called a blade of light and can transform into one), Darkness Manipulation Negation (Has the power to counter darkness), Reactive Adaptation, Power Mimicry, & Shapeshifting (Soul Calibur changes its form to best suit its host's fighting style), Stamina Bestowal (Can bestow vitality to its wielder), Regeneration & Healing (High-Mid; Put Siegfried's body back together after it was completely destroyed, and healed it. Acts as a healing aid to its host), Sealing (Can seal away the Soul Edge), Flight (Can levitate), BFR (Type 1; Can freely send people into Astral Chaos), Summoning (Is able to freely summon its wielder to its location), Ice Manipulation & Transmutation (Can freeze-over the ground and crystalize people completely), Extrasensory Perception & Telepathy (Can read its host's soul, and directly communicate to them through that), Possession & Body Puppetry (Is able to freely control its wielder's body and their very being), Space-Time Manipulation (Clashing with Soul Edge opened up a dimensional warp. While it retains the Soul Edge's ability to devour souls, it is still a much less potent version of the actual blade. It is created in the same manor at which Inferno creates his mimics of other character's weapons.

The forms it has taken are legendary, as are the souls of the renowned warriors it has consumed. Only those with great mental discipline can retain their will while wielding this weapon. It is an evil weapon which saps the strength of the enemy it wounds and rends the soul of the one who holds it.

Even after covering the entire world in darkness, it is safe to assume that it has not come close to reaching the limits of its terrible power. Night Terror is the manifestation of this ultimate form of Soul Edge, and as such always carries it around.

*Steel Paddle: A giant iron paddle. It has no blade and thus has no cutting ability, but it can cause plenty of destruction with its size and weight alone. As one would expect, it is very useful for defense as well.

In this form, Soul Edge has a severe lack of power, as it has yet to break out of its shell and become the Soul Edge that Nightmare is more well-known for wielding.
