It's true. You'd never recover from that. You saved us, you should be proud. Now you can put all this behind you——
~ Lady to Nero about killing Vergil
You heard of Machiavelli? He's a legend. One of the underworld's top gunsmiths. Now would you believe it if I told you Artemis started out as a gun he made? Seems that fusing the gun with a human host created this.
~ Nico explaining Artemis

Background

Lady, born Mary Ann Arkham, is a supporting protagonist of the Devil May Cry series. The daughter of a demon-obsessed scholar named Arkham, Lady set out on a vengeful quest for revenge against him after he killed her mother, Kalina Ann. She always carries around a large rocket launcher named after her mother, and uses it to vanquish any demon standing in the way of her revenge.

During her hunt for revenge, Mary met Dante, who gave her the nickname "Lady" that would soon become her new identity. Although the two started out enemies, she soon saw past his demonic heritage and became one of his good friends. After fulfilling her mission of killing Arkham, Lady became Dante's partner as a Devil Hunter-for-hire.

Codex Statistics

Tier: High 4-C

Name: Mary Ann Arkham (formerly), Lady

Origin: Devil May Cry

Sex: Female

Age: Around 18 years old

Classification: Human

Alignment: Chaotic Good (Lady is a good person, but her goals are entirely selfish. She fights demons and seeks to prevent the fusing of the Human and Demon Realms, though she is mainly doing this because of her hatred for Arkham. As stated by herself, she is entirely motivated by her desire to get revenge on her father. However, after Arkham's death, she is seen still helping Dante defeat demons, which shows her good nature)

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: High Mass Star level (Comparable to her durability. Could contend with and harm Dante; Dante shortly after contended with and eventually defeated Arkham. Lady's weapons were also specifically given to Dante to defeat Arkham. Arkham held the Force Edge but could not wield Sparda's complete power due to his inhumane heart, which is exactly the same situation with Sanctus, making them comparable. Dante defeated Vergil, whose younger self has been depicted to be able to face Sanctus. A weakened Sanctus within The Savior could create perfect recreations of entire areas, including ones with the Sun present)

Durability: High Mass Star level (Can withstand several hits from Dante)

Striking Strength: High Mass Star Class

Lifting Strength: Athletic Human

Travel Speed: Athletic Human

Attack Speed: Faster Than Light

Reaction Speed: Faster Than Light (Comparable to Dante who is able to avoid lasers from the Damned Rook, which move at lightspeed)

Stamina: Very High (Though Lady is completely human, she has an extremely high amount of stamina. She is capable to destroying hoards of demons and performing extremely complex moves without tiring, though she still notably has limits as seen when she tired out after her fight with Dante)

Range: Standard Melee, Hundreds of Meters with firearms

Intelligence: Genius Intelligence in combat (Lady is extremely intelligent in the field of combat, capable of instantly adapting to the fighting styles of massively different varieties of demons. The demons in particular that Lady is able to take out, have existed as blood-lusted fighters for countless years, possibly even centuries)

Powers and Techniques

Equipment

  • Handguns: A set of dual handguns designed for rapid-fire action, which Lady carries around at all times. These are Lady's standard weapons which she has holstered on her hip.
  • Grenades: A set of standard grenades, which Lady can freely toss at enemies to create a massive explosion.
  • Kalina Ann: A rocket launcher with Lady's mother's name etched into the handle. The Kalina Ann can only be fired while Lady stands on the ground. The recoil of this weapon is harsh, requiring a moment after each volley for Dante to recover. Therefore, this weapon renders Lady slightly vulnerable to attack. However, the missiles it fires explode on contact with targets of walls, damaging all enemies within the blast radius. The Kalina Ann can also fire a salvo of homing rockets, which target and go after one or more enemies and create a chain of explosions. An amazingly powerful weapon.

  • Grenades: A set of standard grenades, which Lady can freely toss at enemies to create a massive explosion.
  • Kalina Ann II: Nico made this replacement for the lost Kalina Ann. Identical to the original weapon, with a special something hidden within. This was made and paid for by Lady, though Dante was given it as a rental.

Other

Weaknesses: Lady is extremely brash and can let her emotions get in the way of her judgement. She is easily fooled into believing things that deep-down she wants to believe, such as when Arkham told her that he was under Vergil's possession. She holds family extremely dear to her, going on a vengeful hunt for revenge after the death of her mother, and ragefully lashing out at both Dante and Vergil after the supposed death of her father.
