It can be used for celebration, as seen when Boromir sounded the horn after he'd been chosen to join the Fellowship of the Ring. But it can also be used for warning or a cry for help, seen during Boromir's last stand.

Standard Tactics: Boromir usually leads with powerful sword strikes designed to break an opponent's guard, or dismember them. He always strikes to kill as fast and efficiently as possible. If Boromir feels as though his life is in danger, he will use the Horn of Gondor to call for aid.
Weaknesses: Boromir's desire to protect Gondor and his people leads him to be easily corruptible, and has such been seen as antagonistic on many an occasion.
