I want you to love me just like I love you.
~ The Stalker to The Victim

Liar... Liar Liar Liar Liar Liar Liar Liar Liar Liar Liar !!!
~ The Stalker losing his mind after believing The Victim to be lying about accepting his love

Stop! She's dead... She's already dead, you stupid bastard... I loved her. How could I be capable of this?
~ The Stalker's astral form seeing his physical body kill her in one of the resets

You'll be safe from me now. Is thi good enough? ... I can't get the clock to go foward. "Clock of Atonement"... I guess getting caught isn't the same thing as atonement. I'll figure out something else.
~ The Stalker's astral form when being able to delay his physical self from killing The Victim long enough for the police to arrive

I am worthless. Whatever I do, my ugly self always comes out. I finally realized. I am worthless. Garbage. I really hate myself. I was always looking at you, but I didn't realize how ugly I was. I want to atone for my sins... Let's go back to the beginning.
~ The Stalker after trying every reset and realizing how terrible of a person he is

... I'm back. Nobody's there... Was it a dream? .... All I can do is keep going.
~ The Stalker at the end of the original game

I don't know if it is possible to atone our sins... But let's leave the judgement to God. That's his job, right? Let's go out for a drink. My friend.
~ The Stalker at the end of the Clock of Atonement IOS version

Background

The Stalker is a nameless man who starts off limping around in a fit of regret over killing the love of his life. A nameless woman offers the man a clock that can rewind time. He desires to go back in time and prevent his mistake.

This dropdown contains the various endings The Stalker goes through. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Through rewinding time and rearranging the scene several times, the stalker managed to prevent the death of the woman. Even though he was arrested in this version of events, the stalker realised that he can never change. Accepting his fate, the stalker freezes time one more time and stabs his past self in the back. The stalker was then returned to the point where he received the Clock of Atonement, uncertain if it really happened.

In the iOS version of the game, there's further story added that shows he put himself in prison to atone for his sins, where he was bullied by an officer and two prisoners. Later befriending a man named Jack who would fight back against the two prisoners, though Jack eventually needed to do a prison break to try and save his mind, with The Stalker being tortured by the officer to find out what Jack was doing and subcummbing to the torture, revealing what Jack did. Due to this he had a year taken off his sentence but learned that Jack hanged himself and after leaving the prison, he was killed by the father of The Victim out of vengenace.

The Clock of Atonement rewinds time and he instead saves himself from being tortured by scaring away the officer and prisoners by moving the drum around making them think a ghost was around, due to this he lives out his sentence and is saved by Jack when the father of The Victim tries to kill him, the game ends with The Stalker in his astral form leaving the room he was in and the person that gave him the watch from the beginning noting to the audience that only God knows what happened to The Stalker.
