PEPPERMINT

Highly talented in robotics, Peppermint is the mind behind 808, an adorable cat-drone that provides Chai support both in and out of battle.

Peppermint herself is equally helpful, able to tag in to assist Chai with a volley of laser blasts to juggle enemies, overload barriers or even hit out-of-reach switches in the environment.

Background

Peppermint is one of the main protagonists in Hi-Fi Rush. She is the first hero that Chai meets, being the creator of 808. Peppermint is an ultra-computer literate and expert mechanic, using her skills to infiltrate and discover the truth behind Vandelay's actions.

Following the second chapter, Peppermint joins Chai and can be summoned as an Assist, utilizing her guns from long ranges.

After Korsica ultimately joined the hero side, Peppermint reveals herself to her allies that she was the youngest child of the Vandelay family prior to their company being compromised by her brother Kale, revealing her full name to be Peppermint Vandelay.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Peppermint’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Sometime before the events of the game, Peppermint received an injury which caused her to get a robotic leg. The leg was given to her by her mother, Roxanne Vandelay, the CEO of their family's company. Unlike her older brother Kale, Peppermint was favored by her parents. While Peppermint begin to pursue her own path, instead of continuing her family, she somehow caught up with Kale's sudden rise as a CEO of their company, who uses a mysterious computer called SPECTRA, which made the former realize something is not right. She built 808 to keep an eye on the Kale-led Vandelay's activities.

Equipment

  • PC-338: An energy gun Peppermint uses as her main weapon, she can transform it into a much larger gun with part upgrades and use it.
  • 808: 808 is one of the main characters in Hi-Fi Rush. Encountering Chai in the first stage, she assists the team in many ways such as providing Chai with Beat Hits and transporting his allies via Assists.

Notable Techniques

  • Remarkable Marksmanship: Peppermint possesses great accuracy, she can shoot down targets and other objects with keen precision.
  • Hacking Mastery: Being an ultra-computer literate, Peppermint can easily hack through systems. This is often used to give Chai an advantage to transverse the environment during his missions.
  • Technological Prowess: Creating 808, Peppermint is shown to have vast knowledge in machinery. She also modified 808 to be able to teleport someone for a short amount of time.
  • Switch Kicker: Calls in Peppermint while in the middle of a ground combo with a beat hit to perform a jam combo, Peppermint swings in and kicks into enemies, finishing with launching them in the air.
  • Master Blaster: A jam combo where Chai and Peppermint team up to pull out a large energy gun on an airbone enemy. Peppermint will transform her blaster into an ultimate beam, doing multiple hits and huge damage.
  • Cannon Spike: A charge up attack from Peppermint. Peppermint will hop on the battlefield and charge her blaster, letting out an area blast that can also destroy strong barriers quickly.
  • Kick Shot: A counter from Peppermint, by calling her one beat after a successful parry, she will hop in and counter attack the enemy that attacked Chai. If the enemy has a barrier, she will do significantly more damage than normal. This can also be done if Chai dodge counters perfectly.
  • Double Riff: Chai teams up with Peppermint to blast away enemies. With Peppermint's arsenal and Chai's musical energy, a machine gun of damage is set forth damaging anything in the path. This attack is particuarly effective against barrier enemies and will do damage to armored enemies.

Other

Standard Tactics: Peppermint has shown during her summon to shoot fast-paced shots, using them in a curtain fire manner to overwhelm the enemy or an area of enemies.

Weaknesses: Nothing notable.
