"Mature Content"
This character or verse has mature themes and concepts, thus those of young age are ill-advised to look through these.
Direct contact with real humans, after being trapped in here for so long... and HER of all people. I'll make her father pay for what he's done to me and all the others. I'll beat you and make you take my place. You don't mind your bodies being borrowed right? It's only fair.
~ Spirit threatening Boyfriend

Background

A long time ago, someone was forcefully trapped within the confines of a dating simulator game by Daddy Dearest under unknown circumstances. Now stuck in the game without any hope of escaping, he would fall into insanity and turn into what Spirit looks like currently.

After Senpai has lost twice against Boyfriend, He is seen writhing before something violently bursts out of his face and destroys him, vaporizing everything around him as well. Spirit, the one trapped in the game, finally emerges in from Senpai, causing the once bright location of the school grounds to become desolate, deserted and dark. He reveals that he has been trapped in the game without contact from other humans for so long. He also reveals that he recognizes Girlfriend and remembers how her father was the one responsible for his imprisonment. He also states that he is not the only person who has met this cruel fate by her father's hands.

With the last song of week 6, Spirit plans to win against Boyfriend in rap battle so he can take over both his and Girlfriend's bodies (and leaving them to take his place inside the game in return) to finally escape and enact revenge against Daddy Dearest for his and everyone else's suffering. Despite his hostility, he may not be entirely ill-willed at either Boyfriend and Girlfriend, but simply wants out by any means possible, even if his freedom would result in others suffering the same way he did.

Standard Equipment

None notable

Other

Standard Tactics: The Spirit can attempt to possess their opponent as well as explode within them. If the Spirit fails to do so, they start to sing.

Weaknesses: None notable

Note: The reason characters in Friday Night Funkin' share the same hax from singing is because rap battles are the main method of battle in Friday Night Funkin' and they have been shown to be deadly as Boyfriend breaks his bones through losing these battles and requires Girlfriend to rewind time so he can try again after his skeleton cracks and he dies. (The NSFW part specifically is a joke, Girlfriend revives him by setting the battle to the beginning just by sitting down on the speakers and can even do it while Boyfriend holds her as shown here.) The official itch.io page directly states that characters such as Daddy Dearest are trying to kill him and not to die in the instructions with the only way of dying being to lose a rap battle. Daddy Dearest also hired Pico as a bounty hunter to kill Boyfriend and there are implications of even more going on during rap battles in canon. Characters that very clearly want to kill/possess Boyfriend and Girlfriend on the spot such as Monster and Spirit lead with starting a rap battle and singing. Boyfriend survives all of these situations unharmed by winning the rap battles. Tankman even implies that boyfriend was killed by losing the rap battle itself and not to mention every character has a death icon when they are pushed all the way to the end of the bar that shows who is winning the rap battle. That same bar is also directly called a health bar by Phantom Arcade.

Note 2: Regarding the Vaporization feat happening inside a game, Spirit was going to perform the same feat in the real world after escaping the game since that is how he exits bodies. Spirit is also just a being trapped in the game, he isn't part of the game itself and is an entirely separate person from Senpai.
