Goku... Once I've taken control of your body, I'll finally discard this ugly, metal shell. Then, I will fulfill my destiny, and become the greatest scientist the world has ever known!
~ Dr. Wheelo to Son Goku

Background

Dr. Wheelo or Dr. Willow , is a scientist who performs experiments in biotechnology. He is the main antagonist of Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Dr. Wheelo’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Dr. Wheelo's goal is to rule the world using a modified human army via his science. However, he, Dr. Kochin (his assistant), and his entire laboratory become encased by ice, as if his inhumane experiments are being shunned by the heavens. His physical body dies of frostbite, but Kochin is able to save his brain and encase him in a robotic shell.

The World's Strongest
Dr. Kochin comes through for his colleague a second time fifty years later when he gathers the Dragon Balls and wishes for Shenron to thaw him and the fortress. Wheelo tests his Planet Geyser on a vast forested area near South City - turning it into a wasteland. Freed from the ice, Dr. Wheelo becomes obsessed with finding the world's strongest man so that his own brain might be transplanted into it. He heads out with Kochin and the Bio-Men to find this man, and at first, they think it is Master Roshi and take him from Kame House along with Bulma back to their fortress, but when the Brutal Warriors Kishime, Misokatsun, and Ebifurya defeat Roshi, Dr. Wheelo starts to doubt they had the right person.

He then goes after Goku's body, after he arrives to save Roshi and Bulma. When his further attempts to subdue Goku meet with failure (such as using a special device to make Piccolo fight Goku and Gohan), the enraged scientist decides to emerge with his own body and fight him on his own and Dr. Kochin accidentally dies in the resulting reveal. Dr. Wheelo easily takes down Piccolo and then shrugs off a combined Kamehameha from Goku, Gohan, Krillin and Master Roshi before taking down the latter three. He battles Goku one on one and even overpowers him while using the Kaio-Ken x3 but is then overpowered himself when Goku pushes himself to using times four.

Dr. Wheelo decides to just concentrate the energy contained within his laboratory's power core to fire a gigantic wave and destroy the entire planet Earth along with Goku. Gohan, Piccolo and Krillin are able to buy enough time for Goku to be able to form a Spirit Bomb, and he uses it to overpower Dr. Wheelo's attack and destroy the robotic scientist, although not before the latter spitefully curses at Goku.

Codex Statistics

Grade: B

Tier: 7-A. Varies-E with Strongest Charged Energy Blast

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Power Source: Ki (All beings in Dragon Ball[1][2][3] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[4], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[5] block attacks that would otherwise[6] kill them from[7] raising their guard[8], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[9])

Attack Potency: Metropolis level (Potency) (Has a power level of 39,000, putting him above the likes of Nappa who casually destroyed a city and stood within the blast without having any damage, and Raditz who can cause explosions dwarfing the mountains, which results in these levels of energy). Varies: Skill with Strongest Charged Blast (Charged Blast have one focus all of their energy into one single point[10], putting the blasts power far beyond what their peak strength is[11], allowing them to destroy things they couldn't prior with their regular attacks[12], this also allows them to use charged attacks that can stop enemies far beyond their level, such as Tien Shinhan pushing back Semi-Perfect Cell with his Neo Ki-Ko-Ho[13], along with stopping an attack shot from Buu absorbed Gotenks[14]. Strongest charged blast can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[15], with blasts capable of[16] seriously damaging/destroying[17] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[18]. Charged Blast also rely heavily on emotional states for example Gohan not believing in himself[19] was having Cell overpower him in a beam clash[20])

Durability: Metropolis level, Multi-Continent level with armor (Noted in Daizenshuu 7 that Dr. Wheelo's armor is powerful enough to withstand a Son Goku Kaioken x4 kamehameha, which overpowered Vegeta's Galick Gun with a Kaio-ken x4 Kamehameha, where he was going to use his galick gun to destroy the earth, which would reach these levels of energy)

Striking Strength: Metropolis Class (Potency)

Lifting Strength: Class 1 (Superior to Early Saiyan Saga Goku, who before training with King Kai is able to barely move around and jump in gravity that multiplies his weight by ten times, where he's naturally 62 kg, thus making him 620 kg on King Kai's planet)

Travel Speed: High Hypersonic (Superior to Saiyan Saga Son Goku with Goku being capable of traveling over a million of kilometers in two days which results in these speeds)

Attack Speed: High Hypersonic

Reaction Speed: High Hypersonic (Far beyond 22nd Budokai Son Goku, who could dodge a mouth blast from Tambourine, which he used to tag the flying nimbus where even post King Kai training Goku used the flying nimbus to make it to the saiyans implying it is at least comparable to his flight speed by then, with Goku being capable of traveling over a million of kilometers in two days which results in these speeds)

Stamina: Likely Limitless as a cyborg

Range: Standard Melee, Interstellar with Ki Attacks (Ki attacks can reach out of the planet and to other planets. All ki attacks should be comparable to Goku's kamehameha, which reached all the way to the sun)

Intelligence: Genius Intelligence (Dr. Wheelo was a mad genius, capable of creating a body that can withstand attacks on the level of Son Goku Kaioken x4 Kamehameha and making a machine that far surpasses Saiyan Saga Vegeta along with early Frieza Saga Vegeta in strength. Created Bio-Men, each of who can harm Son Gohan, along with creating the Bio-Warriors who easily beat Master Roshi)

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Genius Intelligence, Cyborgization (Full. Dr. Wheelo's entire body has only his brain, with the rest of it being a cybernetic suit), Preparation (Created the Bio-Men with prep, each of who have a power level of 1000, along with the Bio-Warriors), Flight, Extrasensory Perception (Sensed a powerful ki from Son Goku), Mind Control (Has a device, that completely mind controlled Piccolo), Possession (Dr. Wheelo's ultimate goal was to capture Son Goku and take over his body), Energy Projection (Can shoot out an energy blast from his machine), Fusionism (Like other characters Wheelo can perform the Fusion Dance)

Equipment

  • Fortress: Wheelo normally keeps his mechanical body attached to his fortress, while embedded into the fortress Wheelo is able to control its functions and see through the red cameras located on it.
  • Mechanical Body: The body that Dr. Wheelo uses to fight with when all of his Bio Warriors and Bio-Men are defeated.

Notable Techniques

  • Ki Sense: Dr. Wheelo is capable of sensing the ki of others, as he was able to sense a powerful ki that coming from Goku. He was also able to sense the hidden potential that was coming directly from the enraged Gohan.
  • Flight: Like many other androids, Dr. Wheelo can fly without the use of ki.
  • Kiai: He uses something similar to this to stop Piccolo in mid-air.
  • Blaster: Dr. Wheelo can emit powerful energy blasts from his claws
  • Madness Cannon: Dr. Wheelo unleashes yellow waves of energy at his opponent, causing a massive accumulation of damage.
  • Gigantic Bomber: Dr. Wheelo rams at the opponent with a fiery-red aura surrounding him, and headbutts the opponent. He uses this against Piccolo in the film.
  • Planet Geyser: Dr. Wheelo's Ultimate Blast. Dr. Wheelo surrounds himself in a yellow aura and releases a massive red beam of energy capable of destroying a planet; reducing it to a barren lifeless desert.

Other

Standard Tactics: Dr. Wheelo will analyze the enemy by sending his bio-men and bio-warriors after them, if they are not present for the battle or if they're defeated, he himself will battle the opponent with attacks and energy beams, if they offer up too much resistance he will opt to destroy the planet.

Codex Statistics Questions

Q: What about the planetary feats in Dragon Ball?

A: Planetary feats are normally done through their strongest charged blast, where they can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[144], with blasts capable of[145] seriously damaging/destroying[146] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[147], though they themselves are never capable of leaving this unscathed.

Frieza throws a destroy the planet death ball attack but it doesn't destroy the planet. Goku then interestingly notes the reason the planet didn't blow up is because Frieza was too scared of getting caught in the blast[148] . Vegeta's final flash is noted it's going to destroy the planet and Perfect Cell, who is beyond Vegeta, couldn't tank the blast and had to dodge it last second or it would've killed him[149]. Goku's kamehameha was going to destroy the earth and Cell cannot tank this blast, needing to regenerate[150]. Semi-Perfect Cell explosion was consistently noted it was going to destroy the planet and Gohan and it killed Goku[151]. Ultimate Gohan dies to an attack that destroys the earth, his guard was up too since this was when he was fighting Super Buu[152]. Kid Buu shoots a blast trying to destroy the planet, with Vegeta noting he's going to take himself out with it if he lets it off[153]. In Dragon Ball GT, Great Ape Baby Vegeta shoots a super galick gun that he claims will destroy Earth, when Goku is hit by it, he is knocked out to the point that he can't move for a good while, Elder Kai and Shin later state that Baby is going to shoot another blast that will destroy the planet on, greatly injuring Baby if he's caught in the Blast and will kill everyone on the planet if done[154]. Frieza destroyed the entire earth, killing Vegeta in the process[155]. In the Dragon Ball Super Manga, Gohan tells Goku that he doesn't need to hold anything back and can go all out because anything that happens to the Earth can be restored with Dende and the Dragon Balls. Yet, none of Goku's all out attacks destroy the planet but just heavily causes shockwaves around it[156]. Semi-Perfect Cell unleashes a several blast that destroys several islands Android 16 notes that the attacks are just strong enough to not kill Android 18[157].

In the fight of Trunks vs. Mecha Frieza, who is far stronger than his final form, Mecha Frieza immediately goes for his strongest attack, the Supernova. In the original Z anime King Kai even states this is ten times stronger than the power he used on Namek:

  • DBZ Kai Version[158].
  • Original DBZ Anime Version[159]. The attack is directly noted that it could destroy the planet, but doesn't because Trunks catches it, when Mecha Frieza proceeds to detonate it, the explosion is massive but the planet is still intact, implying Frieza must target the core in order to destroy the planet.
