Background

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Drake’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Drake is the son of Giovanni, he stole a Totodile in order to go on a journey and find his father. During his journey he went onto the S.S. Anne so the police couldn’t find him. He woke up to a loud scream as were people being attacked by zombies and escaped with a survivor named Simon into Vermillion City. He eventually gathers other survivors and ends up in Saffron City. By the end, he meets his father and it’s revealed he was actually meant to die during the S.S. Anne attack. However his father used the Pokemon Celebi to prevent his death and re-write the timeline. Depending on Drake’s morality he either sends Drake back in time to before the event happens to warn everyone, sends Drake into a hoard of zombies, or sends him onto an island viewing him as too weak to live in the zombie world.

Appearance

General Description: Silver is a tall, slender young man with crimson red hair, pale skin, and dark eyes.

Gold and Silver / Crystal: A high-collared navy coat with red trim. Dark violet pants. A black belt around his waist. Navy shoes with red trim, matching the colors of his coat.

HeartGold and SoulSilver: His appearance remains mostly the same, but his hair is slightly shorter and a more vivid shade of red. His eye color appears to be gray, though in the opening sequence his eyes are red like his hair.

Drake decides to tell Totodile why he stole him from the lab[1], telling him about his father's disappearance[1], and during this disappearance he sent Drake a present for his 17th birthday[1]. Due to this, he is using Totodile to help him find where his father is[1].

Notable Techniques

Scratch

A physical attack used by Croc against the zombies, it causes knockback when the opponent is hit[1].

Cut

Through Simon teaching HM01 to Croc[1], he learned the use "Cut". Cut allows Croc to cut down small trees and deal double damage to enemies.

Water Gun

A special attack used by Croc against the zombies, it's useful for long ranged attacks but doesn't inflict knockback[1].

Hydro Pump

Through gaining the Mystic Water, Croc learns the ability Hydro Pump[1]. Enemies hit with Hydro Pump will be thrown back and receive double damage.

Other

Standard Tactics: Drake utilizes Croc to fight against enemies, standing behind Croc while letting Croc lead the way[1]; if Croc at all dies/is fainted, then Drake effectively has no battle strategies left and will lose himself[1].

Weaknesses

Explanations

The Infection

The infection is a disease that spread across Johto due to the incompetence of Team Rocket.

The infection was caused by an artifact which Team Rocket stole[9]. Team Rocket read the text saying "The power to make everyone weak-willed and dangerous" and interpreted this as they would be able to mind control people[9].

Team Rocket raided the Goldenrod City Radio Tower to link up the artifact to the radio tower and spread its waves across all of Johto[9].

These effects started reviving recently deceased humans and Pokemon[9].

It's noted by Professor Elm that every single person and Pokemon in the country is infected regardless of whether they were bitten or not, so if they die they will turn into a zombie[9].
