~ Loz about Jenova

Background

Loz is one of three Remnants of Sephiroth, who serves as the personification of Sephiroth’s physical might. Following Sephiroth’s defeat at the hands of Cloud Strife at the end of the original Final Fantasy VII, he decided to return in the form of three distinct avatars, who would adopt different parts of his personality.

Born as a puppet alongside two other brothers (Kadaj and Yazoo), Loz’s main goal on the mortal world was to not only spread the terrible plague of Geostigma, but also locate and join with the head of his “mother,” Jenova; doing so would allow for a final Reunion, that would bring Sephiroth back to the living.

Loz is much more emotional than his brothers and is prone to many outbursts of crying, although he can still maintain an element of physical intimidation. After a large-scale fight through the planet against Cloud and his friends, the Remnants were finally able to recover Jenova’s head within Midgar.

Loz raced through Midgar alongside Yazoo, whilst their brother Kadaj fought against Cloud Strife to retrieve Jenova’s head. As they travelled through the streets, they were opposed by a group known as the Turks, who seemingly killed Loz and Yazoo in an explosion.

Several minutes later, after Kadaj reformed into Sephiroth, Cloud was able to face off against the former SOLDIER and win once again. While Cloud held Kadaj in his final moments, Loz reappeared and attacked Cloud with everything he had. However, as Aerith called down Healing Rain to finally end the conflict, Loz was dissolved into the Lifestream once and for all.

Codex Statistics

Tier: 4-B

Name: Loz

Origin: Final Fantasy VII

Gender: Male

Age: Around 2 years old, mentally a child

Classification: Remnant of Sephiroth, Embodiment of Sephiroth’s Might

Alignment: Chaotic Evil (The Remnants of Sephiroth are each extremely immature and represent merely fragments of Jenova's destructive nature. They each have little regard for anything around them, needlessly destroying whatever they can for the sake of bringing despair to the people of Gaia. They're also extremely selfish, hoping that through enough senseless destruction, they can gain acceptance from their mother)

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: Solar System level (Comparable to Kadaj, who is stated to be just as powerful as Sephiroth during the original game, who can cause a massive supernova He is also consistently stated to be the strongest character in the series, placing him above Bahamut Fury and Knights of the Round, which destroys their own dimension with their ultimate attack)

Durability: Solar System level

Striking Strength: Solar System Class

Lifting Strength: Superhuman

Travel Speed: Superhuman (Is comparable to Cloud Strife, who can run at similar speeds to a Chocobo; Chocobo are said in the Dissidia Final Fantasy Museum to run at 20 mph), Superhuman with Motorcycle (The average motorcycle can reach speeds between 80 and 165 mph)

Attack Speed: Relativistic+

Reaction Speed: Relativistic+ (Comparable to Kadaj comparable to Sephiroth during the original game; Sephiroth could react to the comet of his Super Nova)

Stamina: Superhuman (As a Remnant of Sephiroth, Loz should be comparable to Kadaj; both being able to travel alongside Kadaj and Yazoo throughout the planet on their quest to find Jenova. During this, he faced off against Tifa Lockhart, but never once seemed worn out)

Range: Standard Melee, Far Higher with Materia and Geostigma

Intelligence: Gifted (Is notably much less intelligent than his two brothers, to a significant degree. However, despite not valuing brains much at all, Loz has shown a certain combative intelligence that he uses to take on Tifa Lockhart, who has been a fighter for years)

Weapons/Vehicles

  • Dual Hound: This is Loz’s primary weapon, which is a mechanic gauntlet he wears on his left hand. This not only strengthens the power of his punches, but can also protrude two small spikes from it that send out an electrical discharge, much like a taser.
  • Velvet Nightmare: As a backup weapon, Loz wields this gun which is normally attributed to his brother, Yazoo. This gun has two blades on the sides of its cannon, which provide the gun defences against other weapons.
  • Motorcycle: Much like his brothers, Loz has a motorcycle that he uses to travel through the planet. Also much like his brothers, Loz is able to perform incredibly bombastic and reckless stunts that would be virtually impossible for a normal person.
  • Shadow Creepers: Vicious and unsympathetic quadrupeds who were created from the Negative Lifestream, and can be summoned by Loz through waves of black smoke. These creatures are so vicious, that even if they are seriously injured or mutilated, they will continue chasing their target. Furthermore, anyone in contact with these creatures will be infected with Geostigma.

When Loz made his way into the Sector 5 church and faced off against Tifa Lockhart, he was able to acquire a box containing all of Cloud Strife’s Materia, which he brought back to Kadaj and Yazoo. Loz absorbed a few of these Materia into his body, with these being the Materia we know he absorbed:

  • Contain Materia: A small green orb of magic materia that gives Loz access to a variety of different spells, including: Freeze, Flare, Tornado, and Break.
  • Comet Materia: A small green orb of magic materia that gives Loz the ability to use Comet and Comet2, which calls down an asteroid to pummel his opponents.
  • Explosion Materia: A small green orb of magic materia that gives Loz the ability to use explosive magic against his foes.

Notable Techniques

  • Geostigma: Also called Jenova’s Memetic Legacy, Geostigma is a horrible plague that Loz can inflict on others. Those infected with Geostigma will become infected with S-Cells and thus be subject to the Reunion. Those infected with Geostigma become extremely physically weak, and experience intolerable pain in the affected area that secretes a black ooze.

Other

Weaknesses: Loz is very arrogant and single-minded, ignoring basically anyone or anything in order to secure Jenova’s head. He is also incredibly prone to high emotion that causes him to cry, due to the negligence he feels from Jenova.
