Nightmare Balloon Boy

From The Codex
Five Nights at Freddy's/Nightmare Balloon Boy
Jump to navigationJump to search

Nightmare Balloon Boy is a major antagonist and one of the nightmare animatronics of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, first appearing in the Halloween Update expansion (both Standard and Halloween Edition) for Five Nights at Freddy's 4, where he is featured in his minigame known as "Fun with Balloon Boy" and functions very similar to Plushtrap. It is confirmed that he has an impact on the lore; whether his role is important or not is still yet to be determined.

Appearance

General Description: Nightmare Balloon Boy's appearance is similar to the original BB, but with a more menacing design. He appears to be in a perfect and completely undamaged shape.

Facial Features: Large, pointed teeth inside his large mouth, similar to Nightmare Chica. Dark-blue eyelids and teeth gums. More sinister-looking eyes with red irises, similar to Nightmare Chica's Cupcake. Narrow gray veins. His mouth goes all the way around his head. A red triangular nose and circular cheeks instead of orange ones. Brown hair, slightly shorter than his original counterpart.

Clothing/Outfit: A red and purple striped hat and shirt, instead of red and blue stripes. The pinwheel on top of his cap is blue rather than orange, with a yellow button on top. Indigo buttons instead of black. Lighter blue pants. White socks. Shoes resembling his original counterpart's, but lighter in color.

Missing Items: He lacks the balloon and "Balloons!" sign featured in Five Nights at Freddy's 2.

Personality

  • Enjoys Torturing Victims: Like the other nightmares, Nightmare Balloon Boy has no qualms about torturing his victims with his bony, metal hands.
  • Tends to Mock Victims: Nightmare Balloon Boy has a tendency to mock his victims whenever the opportunity presents itself. The chomping noise heard in one of his quotes indirectly suggests what he does to his victims.

Attack Potency: Wall level (Potency) (Can easily kill William Afton. Should be comparable to the other animatronics, who can crush[1] skulls[2], survive[3] collapsing buildings[4], and are unharmed by a car crash that broke through a billboard[5]. Can one-shot the security guard[6]. They should scale to their novel counterparts due to being just as canon to the games, and are noted as alternate continuities[7]. The animatronics in the novels can tear off bathroom doors, destroy other animatronics their size, break open hinged doors, casually snap people's necks, break open a ceiling, break through a slide, and punch holes through people[8])

Can quickly leave out of sight once a room goes dark), Inorganic Physiology (Non-living Object), Self-Sustenance (Respiratory Self-Sustenance, Nutritional Self-Sustenance, & Restful Self-Sustenance), Invisibility (Can turn invisible via cloaking), Illusion Creation (Standard Illusions; The animatronics at times can make the building change), Passive Technological Manipulation (An animatronic's mere appearance causes the technology to flicker and turn off, all animatronics upon entering a room causes the camera to go static).

Other

Standard Tactics:

Nightmare Balloon Boy starts off on the chair and then moves to four sets of doors, hallway, the "X" on the floor, or jumpscares the player. Nightmare Balloon Boy functions exactly as Plushtrap in the "Fun with Plushtrap" minigame, except for the fact that he laughs or says "Hi" or "Hello" in a deep, demonic voice as well as the fact that he moves at a slightly faster speed than Plushtrap.

When he is slumped over in your office, do not shine your light on him. When he is sitting up, however, you must use your flashlight to reset him.
~ Nightmare Balloon Boy Ultimate Custom Night description
When the night starts, Nightmare BB is already slouched over inside the office. After lowering the monitor, there's a chance he'll be sitting up. When slouched, the player needs to avoid shining the flashlight on him, as this will result in an immediate jumpscare. If he is sitting, however, they should shine the light to return him to his slouching position, otherwise he will attack when the player opens up the monitor.

Weaknesses: Stops moving when flashed by a light, albeit he will still attack if it's flashed again while he's still.

Note

  • This version of Nightmare Balloon Boy is primarily using Ultimate Custom Night as its basis due to being a creation made by Golden Freddy, being noted to be given flesh.

Sometimes a timeline gets so full that the only way to tell a real story is have the story set in a different timeline, an alternate universe, a different location, or perhaps from a vantage point that isn't entirely what it appears to be."
