Background

Tia, also known as Diamond Jack, is the central protagonist of the animated short Diamond Jack, inspired by the song The Villain I Appear To Be. She is an androgynous young woman clad in a sleek black tuxedo, driven by a singular mission: to dismantle a bomb hidden within a diamond casing. This pursuit, however, paints her as a thief and a villain in the eyes of others, despite her true intentions being far from criminal.

Tia’s story begins with her posing as a waitress to stealthily steal a bomb concealed as a diamond. Executing her plan with precision, she swiped the diamond and casually exited, maintaining her disguise to secure a smooth getaway. Once outside, she made her escape by leaping away.

Her pursuit continued into a casino, where a sudden bump caused the bomb to slip from her grasp. Reacting quickly, Tia skillfully juggled it back into her hands. When confronted by a detective unaware of the bomb’s true nature, she feigned handing it over to protect him from harm before making a daring escape, boarding a yellow car.

As the chase intensified, Tia opened the diamond casing to reveal the bomb within while skillfully dodging gunfire. She tricked her pursuers by leaving only the cover with the detective, then boarded a helicopter. Rising into the sky, Tia hurled the bomb upward, where it detonated safely, ensuring no one was harmed or killed by the explosion.
