''Quaggled Mireclops

Trestripods gigahenum

Mireclops family

A rule of thumb is that the larger a creature is, the more it must consume to support its body weight. The quaggled mireclops is no exception. It uses its rootlike legs to drain its environs of nutrients, to the point that puncturing it could improve the entire surrounding area's ecosystem. It also catches small insects using a hidden tongue in the wide mouth found all about its circumference. What prey it manages to catch, it dissolves to their base compounds, such as nitrogen, phosphoric acid, and potassium. Its insides are fertile ground for a wide variety of plants, including Sleeping Beauty and Dusty Mushrooms. Some theorize that the fruit-like growth atop its main body is in itself a parasitic species living off the nutrients it drains from the mireclops's enormous body.''

~ Olimar's notes

Background

The Quaggled Mireclops is the fifth major boss in Pikmin 3, and the second boss in the Garden of Hope. The enemy resembles a massive chunk of land (complete with plant life growing on it) that is supported by three enormous hooved legs, making it a tripedal creature. It walks around much like creatures from the arachnorb family. When first found, the Quaggled Mireclops' only vulnerable part – its plant-like bulb near its teapot-like mouth – is encased in a crystal. Its later revealed that the Quaggled Mireclops ate Louie after he had fled the S.S Drake with the Koppaites' food and that it was responsible for the destruction of the Hocotate Ship.

General Information

Name: Quaggled Mireclops

Origin: Pikmin

Sex: Varies

Age: Unknown

Classification: Boss, Trestripods gigahenum

Species: Mireclops family

Occupation: None

Status: Active

Alignment: Unaligned (The wildlife on PNF-404 don't follow moral ethics and simply survive like traditional animals in the wilderness)

Codex Statistics

Tier: High 10-C

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: High Subhuman level (Its sheer size alone should warrant this. Can effortlessly damage Charlie and incapacitate Louie. Is able to crush Rock Pikmin which is impossible for any other lifeform on PNF-404)

Durability: High Subhuman level (One of the hardest enemies for Pikmin to kill and no-sells most forms of damage across its entire body. Its crystal shell makes its head hard to damage)

Striking Strength: High Subhuman Class

Lifting Strength: Unknown (Can effortlessly fling off a squad of Rock Pikmin)

Travel Speed: At least Superhuman, likely Supersonic (Superior to Olimar and Alph, who can maneuver and keep pace with the gunfire from Man at Legs)

Attack Speed: Supersonic (Should be comparable to lesser enemies. Can keep up with Alph and his squad)

Reaction Speed: Supersonic

Stamina: High (Can keep pace with the Pikmin)

Range: Below Average Melee Range physically, Higher with Life Absorption

Intelligence: Animalistic (Seems to lack enough understanding to the point where if the enemy runs away or hides and are out of the Quaggled Mireclops's sight, they will pace the surrounding area. It acts completely on instinct)

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Small Size (Small Animal Sized), Enhanced Senses (Its three eye stalks allow it to see with a 360-degree view of the immediate area), Natural Weaponry (With its tongue), Consumption, Acid Manipulation, and Matter Manipulation (It digests prey down to their very molecular compounds such as nitrogen and phosphoric acid), Crystal Manipulation (Can form a mireclops crystal around its head), Stealth Mastery, Burrowing, and Camouflage (It hides in its environment by burrowing into the ground and camouflaging its upper body), Life Absorption (Its legs act like roots and absorbs nutrients from the ecosystem), Plant Manipulation (It can quickly grow plants from its body using the nutrients it absorbs).

Resistance to Blunt Force Trauma, Time Stop and Magnetism Manipulation (All enemies on PNF-404 are immune to the magnetic field which stops time in the underground dungeons), Sound Manipulation and Empathic Manipulation (Unaffected by Koppaites' whistle. Other enemies, like the Antenna Beetle's whistle-like sound, can control the Pikmin which captains are superior to)

Other

Weaknesses: Removing or destroying its crystal leaves the head vulnerable to damage, along with its three hooves.
