Background

A Snow Golem is a snowman-like utility mob that helps defend against hostile mobs

To create a Snow Golem, the player must stack two snow blocks, and then place, or dispense, a carved pumpkin, a jack o'lantern or an uncarved pumpkin‌. The building pattern can also work when arranged sideways or upside-down, as long as the pumpkin is the last one placed.

Snow Golems search for the nearest monster, and continue attacking until, in this case, the witch dies. Endermen are capable of creating Snow Golems by placing the necessary blocks, although this is an extremely rare event because they do not do so deliberately.

A Melon Golem is a variant of a Snow Golem with a melon as the head as opposed to a carved pumpkin, found only in Minecraft Earth.

Melon Golems are found in grass and pond tappables with an uncommon rarity. They can not be created by placing a full melon on top of two vertically stacked snow blocks, differing from their Snow Golem counterpart.
