Background

Superman (born Kal-El, legally Clark Kent) is a powerful, friendly, and awkward Kryptonian superhero who protects Earth, and acts as a reporter for the Daily Planet in his civilian identity. He is a close ally of Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of ’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Origins
Kal-El was born on Krypton to Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, who sent him to the planet Earth as an infant in a special pod to escape their planet, which was soon to be destroyed. The pod crash-landed in Smallville, Kansas, and was discovered by the kindly human farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent, who adopted the baby Kal and named him "Clark Kent", raising him as their own.

As Clark got older, the radiation from Earth's yellow sun seeped into his Kryptonian cells to give him incredible abilities. Under his parents' guidance, he became ethical, kind, and helpful, but also rather awkward and anxious. Even after he was told about his Kryptonian heritage, Clark stayed away from the pod, buried in the field of the Kents' farm, out of fear of losing his human connection.

Becoming Superman
As an adult, Clark moved to Metropolis, where he met the curious and excitable Jimmy Olsen, who became his best friend and roommate. The two became interns at the Daily Planet, where they happened upon Lois Lane. He then was nicknamed as "Superman" by Lois after saving her from Livewire, and began using a kryptonian protective suit while acting as his superhero alter-ego.
