Introduction

Divine beings are a class of immortals whose existence transcends the normal mortal conflicts and struggles upon the Earth. This status is among only the gods of Kid Icarus universe along with angels, who serve as the messenger of the gods. Gods are the beings praised by humankind, and generally hold domain over parts of the lands where humans live, whilst angels spread the word of their god/goddess and carry messages from the people. Gods also typically "embody" or are the personification of a certain concept/earthly element such as light, whom the goddess Lady Palutena embodies and upholds, which their forces and angels follow lawfully.

Types

Some divine beings like gods and angels are hard to identify, due to their "physical appearance" being merely an easy human form for the mortal race to comprehend. Though various other divine beings, like spirits, are rather straightforward.

  • Gods: Gods are the oldest beings in the universe (with them possibly predating the first life on earth), and the ones who ultimately oversee the human realm and its prosperity. Like mortals however, the gods are often irrational and easily clash in global-scale wars which indirectly involve the human race.
  • Angels: Angels are the messengers of the gods, and operate similarly to them in that their true forms are too abstract for mortal comprehension. Angels often represent the faction of their god/goddess and will utilize their blessings and boons to keep the wishes and demands of the gods strong on Earth.
  • Reincarnated: The reincarnated are exactly as their name implies; deceased mortals who have reached the Underworld or retuned to Nature where they will be reincarnated into a new life, or reformed as a troop of their respective realm. Soul-made entities typically have the ability to combat the angels, and even gods, with divine pranks.
