Articles About Soldier Boy
Canons Comics - Amazon
I led the 116th onto Omaha Beach. I was in the fucking Eagle's Nest. I fought for this country...I fought for this country. And what did I get for it? Forgotten. Left to rot by my own team. You know, I wanted some rug rats of my own, with Countess. Yeah. Ain't that a bitch. You know, couple of little boys. Raise them up to be men. Now...now I got nothing.
~ Soldier Boy to Hughie

Background

Soldier Boy (real name Ben) is a major character in Season Three of the Amazon series The Boys. He was also America's first and greatest superhero before Homelander and the leader of the superhero team Payback.

As a young man, Soldier Boy helped good triumph over evil in World War II. With his superhero team Payback by his side, he fought for liberty and justice for all until his disappearance during a botched military operation in Nicaragua, with the cover story being that he heroically sacrificed his own life to save America from a nuclear power plant meltdown in 1984.

General Information

Name: Soldier Boy, Ben (Real Name)

Origin: The Boys

Sex: Male

Age: 103

Classification: Former Leader of Payback

Species: Human/Supe (Genetically enhanced human given Compound V)

Occupation: Soldier

Status: Alive

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (During his younger years as the leader of Payback, Soldier Boy was an arrogant, macho, violent, reckless womanizer and bully who had sexist tendencies, was physically and emotionally abusive to anyone who disagreed with him, and had no qualms with using his status and power to intimidate and manipulate others for his own ends. Despite all his personality problems, Soldier Boy was capable of showing respect and gave Grace a small gesture of appreciation when she killed an enemy soldier who was about to fire on him from behind. Furthermore, despite his arrogance and machismo, Soldier Boy was the only Supe during the Nicaragua incident to fight effectively and maintain total composure against the enemy. After returning home to the USA, Soldier Boy was shown to be very bitter and vindictive, as he immediately targeted his former teammates in order to kill them out of revenge. Despite this, he is not psychopathic like Homelander and actively avoids taking civilian lives if he can help it, although he avoids taking responsibility when he does cause casualties. He also showed remorse for the lives lost when he had unleashed his radiation blast, quietly admitting to Hughie that he wasn't a bad guy and he didn't mean to hurt them)

He has also shown proficiency with knives and guns. When Soldier Boy returned to the present, he proved a formidable opponent against Homelander, the first time the latter seemed nervous about facing another Supe. With his near century of experience in actual combat, Soldier Boy was able to fight and, at times, overpower Homelander by evading and countering)

Other

Standard Tactics: Soldier Boy generally leads with melee combat and fights with martial arts in conjunction with using his shield. He is also shown to willingly use his radiation infused blasts whenever he fully intends to kill someone and if they aren't able to physically match him.

Weaknesses: Suffers from PTSD and can be triggered by Russian music, making him lose control of his emotions and powers. His body emits radiation that can easily be detected by radiation trackers. It also takes considerable time for him to generate sufficient energy to discharge his radiation-infused energy blasts. Powerful toxins such as Novichok can knock him out.
