The day you inherited the title of Vampire Hunter... I felt as if a wall had been erected between us... and for that reason I set out on my expedition. I wanted to be better than you and relieve you of your fate.
~ Maxim Kischine to Juste Belmont

Background

After Dracula’s second defeat at the hands of Simon Belmont in 1698, the people viewed him as a hero and began gathering around him. Soon enough, a peaceful village formed around the Belmont household. Nearly 30 years passed and the village became home to the powerful Kischine Clan, and the newest member of the clan, Maxim Kischine. Maxim grew up as an aspiring vampire hunter, alongside his friends Juste Belmont and Lydie Erlanger.

Juste in particular was the grandson of Simon, and thus viewed as a prodigy. Maxim, wanting to become one of the greats, made himself Juste’s rival. The two eventually competed for who would inherit the Vampire Killer whip, but Juste outclassed Maxim in every competition they had; inheriting the whip over Maxim.

Maxim, frustrated and jealous by Juste’s victory, decided to leave on a training expedition, and Juste had not heard from him in two years; until one day, suddenly, Maxim reappeared in town with wounds all over his body, and told Juste that Lydie had been kidnapped and taken to Dracula’s Castle. Astonished that Dracula’s Castle had risen despite it not having been a century since his previous defeat, Juste rushed over to the castle as fast as he could.

Maxim’s training expedition was actually a journey to find Dracula’s body parts and resurrect him, so that he could prove himself by taking the Dark Lord down. However, Maxim was possessed by Dracula in the process, and stole Lydie himself.

Thus, Maxim had developed two separate personalities; Maxim (his regular self,) and Dark Maxim (his possessed form.) This created two alternate dimensional versions of Dracula’s Castle, Castle A and Castle B, which Juste was forced to traverse. After doing so, and conquering both entire castles, Juste finally confronted Dark Maxim in his chambers. However, during their duel, Maxim noticed his bracelet on Juste’s arm, and regained his mind.

There, it was discovered that the being that possessed Maxim was not Dracula himself, but an unknown Wraith who took over Dracula’s form and powers. After the Dracula Wraith fuses himself with the parts of Dracula’s body, he and Juste have one final duel, where Juste fortunately prevails.

Being taken by Juste, Maxim was able to escape the crumbling castle and slowly came to his senses. Maxim, ashamed by what he had done, apoligzed to Juste and Lydie, promising to put their friendship back on track and return peacefully to the village.

Maxim’s future is entirely unknown, although it is known that his Stellar Sword ends up in the hands of the legendary Eric Lecarde; who himself would then pass it onto the vampire hunter, Jonathan Morris.

Codex Statistics

Tier: At least 2-C, likely Far Higher

Name: Maxim Kischine

Origin: Castlevania

Sex: Male

Age: 18 years old

Classification: Vampire Hunter

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (Although a vampire hunter and good friend of Juste Belmont, Maxim's morals are not nearly as clean. He seeks proving himself far above doing any good, and has actively resurrected Dracula in order to prove to himself that he's stronger than Juste, and not because he seeks to actually destroy evil), Chaotic Evil as Dark Maxim (Completely self-serving and wicked to the core, Dark Maxim goes to any lengths to be as wicked and unpredictable as possible, even kidnapping Lydie simply because of the wicked nature of it)

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: At least Universe level, likely Far Higher (Fought Juste Belmont, who was considered the fiercest and most prodigious hunter even among the other Belmont’s, at least at the time. This should put Maxim above Simon Belmont, who could directly defeat the Time Reaper by himself; the Time Reaper was going to destroy the entire Castlevania Timeline)

Durability: At least Universe level, likely Far Higher (Has fought Juste Belmont and is thus more durable than Simon Belmont, who could take hits from the Time Reaper directly; the Time Reaper's power was going to destroy the Castlevania Timeline)

Striking Strength: At least Universal, likely Far Higher

Lifting Strength: Unknown

Travel Speed: Superhuman (Should scale above Leon Belmont, who was able to escape Walter's Castle by running from the top floor to the entrance, before the entire structure collapsed)

Attack Speed: Faster Than Light

Reaction Speed: Faster Than Light (Should be above Trevor Belmont, who was able to outpace Nuculais, a being composed entirely of light, as well as Dracula, who generated a light beam. Scales above Leon Belmont, who outpaced Medusa, who could produce beams from her eyes on several occasions; these beams were confirmed to be comprised of light. Should scale to Soma Cruz, who could outpace Paranoia; Paranoia can generate beams of energy from its hands, confirmed to be comprised of light. Defeating Death should put him about Count Olrox as well, who could generate a beam, which was confirmed to be light-based)

Stamina: Superhuman (Should be similar to Juste Belmont. Maxim went on an entire expedition for two years searching for Dracula’s body parts. He then was able to travel home, raise Dracula’s Castle, and fight Juste Belmont, without rest)

Range: Standard Melee, Extended Melee with Stellar Sword, Tens of Meters with shuriken and Maxim Mirage

Intelligence: Genius Intelligence in combat (Although not as intelligent as Juste Belmont, he should be somewhat comparable. With just the knowledge of Simon Belmont’s collection of Dracula’s body parts 50 years prior, Maxim was able to find them all himself and summon the Dracula Wraith)

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Martial Arts, Weapon Mastery (Was trained all his life, and is now skilled in using a sword and shuriken), Genius Intelligence, Non-Standard Interaction (Maxim can harm Death), Immortality Negation (Type 7; Maxim can kill the undead), Aura and Afterimage Creation (Maxim is enveloped in a red aura and leaves afterimages), Duplication (The Maxim Mirage technique has him duplicate himself), Healing (Maxim can heal himself), Pocket Reality Manipulation (Through Maxim’s mind, a realm containing a parallel castle was created)

Equipment

Whips

  • Stellar Sword: An extremely powerful sword that attacks faster than the Vampire Killer whip, and is able to harm all enemies in the vicinity simultaneously.

Sub-Weapons

  • Shuriken: A gigantic metal ninja star nearly as large as Maxim himself, which acts as a boomerang that returns after being thrown.

Other

Weaknesses: Maxim’s jealousy and pride can overcome him, which is what lead to his possession by the Dracula Wraith.
