Background

Sheena was a woman enlisted into the Strider training program at a young age. While in the program, she quickly became friends with fellow Striders, Hiryu and Cain. Following the coat-tails of Mariya, Sheena became the second known female Strider to reach the A Rank, meaning she was highly trained and deadly in combat.

Although she often tried to hide it, Sheena had romantic feelings for Hiryu, which were often pushed aside with Hiryu insisting that she and Cain would make a good couple. During Cain’s mysterious disappearance, however, Sheena was able to team up with Hiryu, much to her content.

When Cain was finally found, Sheena was ecstatic to find he had awoken, and presented him with his Cypher. However, in a split second, Cain attacked Sheena, and she barely avoided in time to save her life. However, her left arm was morally slashed, leaving only Hiryu to take on Cain.

After a long and strenuous battle, Sheena saw that the two Striders were nearly matched in skill. Because of this, Sheena decided to lunge herself at Cain and briefly hold him down, giving Hiryu the edge. Unfortunately, as a result of doing this, Cain was able to mortally wound her.

Hiryu defeated Cain, breaking him free of his mind control, and rushed over to the dying Sheena. In her dying breaths, she exclaimed how happy she was to have seen Hiryu one last time. Sheena’s death resonated heavily within Cain, who could not forgive himself for what he had done.
