Background

Ness is the main character of MOTHER 2 (localized as EarthBound), and is one of the handful of guest Nintendo characters that appear in Mario Warfare. He is first introduced through the Smash Club, an underground club where various Nintendo characters get together to fight each other, acting as one of Mario's opponents when he first joins the club. Though he is easily defeated by Mario, he would later join the war against Bowser and his forces.

• Despite contributing to the war effort, Ness did not recieve a medal from Peach during the end ceremony.
