Who blasted mah blast!?

Background

Android 15 is Dr. Gero's fifteenth android creation. He is designed to serve Gero's vendetta against Goku, who overthrew the Red Ribbon Army as a child.

While the main timeline version of him was destroyed by Gero, the parallel world version Android 15 makes his debut as an antagonist in Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!.

According to Akira Toriyama's art of the character, this android was intended to be Android 14 (人造人間14号 Jinzōningen Jū Yon-Gō, lit. "Artificial Human No. 14"), however, Toei Animation switched the two androids' names.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Android 15’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

He was developed by Dr. Gero at some point before the Androids Saga. Along with Android 13 and Android 14, Android 15 was quite close to the final Android form, however like their predecessors they had one problem or another and as such were presumed to have been destroyed by Dr. Gero.

Even though Android 13, Android 14, and Android 15 are not featured in the Dragon Ball manga, the "Androids A-B-C's" section mentions that Androids 13, 14, and 15 were very close to the Android concept.

Android 15 is completed by Dr. Gero's self-aware supercomputer alongside Android 14. The two set out for West City, where they devastatingly assault a restaurant where Goku's family is in the midst of dining, in an effort to kill Goku. After rescuing bystanders in the restaurant's vicinity, a short battle between the Androids and Goku and Future Trunks ensues (the former deducing their connection to Dr. Gero and his androids from the prominently displayed Red Ribbon logo on Android 15 as well as the fact that he couldn't sense their energy earlier); the fighters soon after take their combat to an isolated glacial area, where they are followed by Gohan and Krillin.

While 15 and 14 are taking up arms against Goku and Trunks, a third android arrives on the scene: Android 13, who was completed by Dr. Gero's supercomputer after Androids 15 and 14. Upon his arrival on the scene, 13 confronts Goku, leaving Trunks and Vegeta to fight against 14 and 15 respectively. Ultimately, Android 15 is destroyed by Vegeta following Vegeta's transformation to Super Saiyan by decapitating him with a punch (in sync with the destruction of Android 14 by Super Saiyan Trunks), although not before dealing a heavy blow to the Saiyan Prince simultaneously, with the decapitation having a delayed effect. However, even their deaths are fail-safe, as 13 absorbs components from 15 and 14, resulting in his transformation into Super Android 13.

Codex Statistics

Grade: B

Tier: 7-A

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Power Source: Ki (All beings in Dragon Ball[1][2][3] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[4], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[5] block attacks that would otherwise[6] kill them from[7] raising their guard[8], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[9])

Attack Potency: Metropolis level (Could beat down Son Goku. This Goku is after the events of the Cooler movies, putting him far above Nappa who casually destroyed a city and stood within the blast without having any damage, and Raditz who can cause explosions dwarfing the mountains, which results in these levels of energy)

Durability: Metropolis level

Striking Strength: Metropolis level

Lifting Strength: Class 25 (Superior to Android Saga Super Saiyan Vegeta, who trained in 300 times gravity, where Vegeta is naturally 56 kg, making him 16,800 kg or 16.8 tons)

Travel Speed: Massively Hypersonic+ (Superior to Super Saiyan Son Goku on Namek, who previously in his base form traveled from Frieza's ship over to Vegeta in this timeframe)

Attack Speed: Massively Hypersonic+

Reaction Speed: Massively Hypersonic+ (Far beyond 22nd Budokai Son Goku, who could dodge a mouth blast from Tambourine, which he used to tag the flying nimbus where even post King Kai training Goku used the flying nimbus to make it to the saiyans implying it is at least comparable to his flight speed by then, with Goku being capable of traveling over a million of kilometers in two days which results in these speeds)

Stamina: Limitless (As an android created by Gero, he has access to an infinite energy supply)

Range: Standard Melee, Interstellar with Ki Attacks (Ki attacks can reach out of the planet and to other planets. All ki attacks should be comparable to Goku's kamehameha, which reached all the way to the sun)

Intelligence: Genius Intelligence (An android created by Dr. Gero which means it's most likely outfitted with various different battle strategies and the ability to analyze their opponents and find out their weaknesses)

Knowledge: Expert level

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Acrobatics, Inorganic Physiology (Androids are directly noted by Goku to be beings that he cannot ki sense because they aren't organic), Immortality (Ageless; Androids essentially have eternal life through their mechanized bodies), Flight (Able to fly during combat), Information Analysis (Is capable of analyzing Goku's data), Extrasensory Perception (Androids are built in with sensors that allow them to detect very high power levels), Energy Projection (Should be able to use energy attacks like other androids), Fusionism (Like other characters, Android 15 can perform the Fusion Dance).

Resistance to Pain (Androids don't feel pain), Extrasensory Perception (Androids cannot be ki sensed due to not being an organic being)

Equipment

Nothing notable.

Notable Techniques

  • Flight: The ability to fly without the use of ki.
  • Energy Attack: The most basic form of energy attack used by androids.
  • 3D Scan Mode: A mode that allows advanced scanning of enemies.
  • Goku Termination Program: Android 15 was programmed to kill Goku. The program contains information on Goku such as his address, fighting style, and techniques.
  • Android Barrier: Used to protect himself from Future Trunks' Continuous Energy Bullets.
  • Android Strike 15: Android 15's ultimate attack. Used on Vegeta in the movie and named in Raging Blast 2.
  • Energy Squall: An energy sphere barrage used by Android 14 and Android 15 against Future Trunks.
  • F.F. Spark Cannon: An energy sphere barrage used by Android 15 against Future Trunks.
  • Multi-step Ki Blast: An energy sphere used several times in the movie.
  • Murder Ball: A Full Power Energy Ball.
  • Combined Energy Ball: First, Androids 14 and 15 charge their own energy spheres, then they combine them into one unique and gigantic energy sphere, and fire it from below at the target. They used this attack against Goku and his family, destroying the building where the family was dining.

Other

Standard Tactics: Android 15 will shoot ki attacks along with use hand to hand combat, analyzing the data of his enemy during battle.

Weaknesses

Note

  • Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[116].
  • The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.
