One drop. That was all Jaguar's scientists needed to combine the best of their Bio-Warriors with Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan, to create the best fighter technology can build!
~ Maloja explaining Bio-Broly

Background

Bio-Broly, also known as Drooly or Experiment #13, is a Bio-Warrior and Mutant Saiyan created by Lord Jaguar and his team of scientists. Following the original Broly’s journey to Earth, and then eventual defeat at the hands of the Son family, all that remained of his legacy were traces of blood left on his Saiyan Pod.

Through gathering the traces of Broly’s blood and merging them with a mysterious acidic fluid known as Culture Fluid, Lord Jaguar’s crew was able to engineer a perfect Broly clone within the timespan of only a few months. Deemed the 13th experiment, the newly-named Bio-Broly was the ultimate biological warrior.

However, once the laboratory was invaded by Son Goten, Trunks, Android #18, and Krillin, Bio-Broly’s release finally began. Bio-Broly immediately transformed into the Legendary Super Saiyan, and was then overtaken by Culture Fluid, which morphed him into a monstrous syrupy abomination.

Bio-Broly was able to easily take out the heroes, and destroy the lab while he was at it. Absorbing as much Culture Fluid as possible, Bio-Broly grew to an astronomical size, and bega ravaging the islands. However, once his body touched the ocean water, the Culture Fluid reacted horribly.

Culture Fluid was incredibly weak to ocean water, and upon contact with it, the giant Bio-Broly immediately turned to stone. Son Goten and Trunks immediately used their ki to destroy Bio-Broly’s stone body, ending the Mutant Saiyan once and for all.

Codex Statistics

Key: Bio-Broly | Giant Bio-Broly

Grade: B | B

Tier: At least 7-A. Varies-E with Strongest Charged Blast | At least 7-A, likely Far Higher. Varies-E with Strongest Charged Blast

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Power Source: Ki (All beings in Dragon Ball[1][2][3] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[4], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[5] block attacks that would otherwise[6] kill them from[7] raising their guard[8], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[9])

Attack Potency: At least Metropolis level (Potency) (Was able to easily take out Android 18, who fought and defeated the Z-fighters including Super Saiyan Vegeta, Super Saiyan Trunks, Piccolo, and Tien Shinhan, making her far above the likes of Nappa who casually destroyed a city and stood within the blast without having any damage, and Raditz who can cause explosions dwarfing the mountains, which results in these levels of energy. Defeated Android #18 in a similar manner to Imperfect Cell defeating Android #17, thus should be comparable). Varies: Skill with Strongest Charged Blast (Charged Blast have one focus all of their energy into one single point[10], putting the blasts power far beyond what their peak strength is[11], allowing them to destroy things they couldn't prior with their regular attacks[12], this also allows them to use charged attacks that can stop enemies far beyond their level, such as Tien Shinhan pushing back Semi-Perfect Cell with his Neo Ki-Ko-Ho[13], along with stopping an attack shot from Buu absorbed Gotenks[14]. Strongest charged blast can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[15], with blasts capable of[16] seriously damaging/destroying[17] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[18]. Charged Blast also rely heavily on emotional states for example Gohan not believing in himself[19] was having Cell overpower him in a beam clash[20]) | At least Metropolis level (Potency), likely Far Higher. Varies: Skill with Strongest Charged Blast

Durability: At least Metropolis level (Was able to take hits from Android 18) | At least Metropolis level, likely Far Higher

Striking Strength: At least Metropolis Class (Potency) | At least Metropolis Class (Potency), likely Far Higher

Lifting Strength: Class 25 (Superior to Android Saga Super Saiyan Vegeta, who trained in 300 times gravity, where Vegeta is naturally 56 kg, making him 16,800 kg or 16.8 tons) | Class 25

Travel Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Superior to Super Saiyan Son Goku on Namek, who previously in his base form traveled from Frieza's ship over to Vegeta in this timeframe) | Unknown: True level (Has grown much slower due to his size)

Attack Speed: Massively Hypersonic | Unknown: True level (Wasn’t seen to fight before his death)

Reaction Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Far beyond 22nd Budokai Son Goku, who could dodge a mouth blast from Tambourine, which he used to tag the flying nimbus where even post King Kai training Goku used the flying nimbus to make it to the saiyans implying it is at least comparable to his flight speed by then, with Goku being capable of traveling over a million of kilometers in two days which results in these speeds) | Unknown: True level

Range: Standard Melee, Kilometers as Giant Bio-Broly, Interstellar with Ki Attacks (Ki attacks can reach out of the planet and to other planets. All ki attacks should be comparable to Goku's kamehameha, which reached all the way to the sun)

Intelligence: Above Average Intelligence (Appears to be brainless and incapable of speech, appearing more like a horror-monster than the spiteful villain that the original Broly was. Bio-Broly is fairly intelligent in battle, however, able to outmaneuver/overpower Son Goten and Trunks)

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Fighter's Intuition (Broly can outmaneuver Son Goten and Trunks, trained martial artists), Acrobatics, Extrasensory Perception, Flight, Enhanced Senses, Transformation (Partial Transformation; Broly can transform into a Super Saiyan), Regeneration (Mid; Bio-Broly is able to regenerate from his head being sliced off by Krillin), Acid Manipulation and Corrosion Inducement (Culture Fluid acts as an incredibly potent acid, that will corrode and disintegrate the body of those who touch it), Body Control (Bio-Broly’s malleability lets him twist and contort his body), Fusionism (Like other characters, Bio-Broly can perform the Fusion Dance), Size Manipulation (Culture Fluid made Bio-Broly grow to an incredible size).

Resistance to Acid Manipulation and Corrosion Inducement (Bio-Broly is not harmed by Culture Fluid, but empowered by it)

Notable Techniques

  • Flight: With a mastery of Ki control, Bio-Broly is able to fly at incredibly high speeds.
  • Ki Blast: Using Ki, Bio-Broly can concentrate it into a ball that he uses as a projectile attack.
  • Ki Sense: Bio-Broly is able to detect lifeforms and power levels from far off.
  • Eraser Cannon: Bio-Broly gathers the ki from around his body and concentrates it into his hand, which he then casually waves at the enemy. This small ball of ki explodes on contact.
    • Double Eraser Cannon: Bio-Broly forms one Eraser Cannon in each hand, and then throws it at his opponent in quick succession.
  • Gigantic Spike: Bio-Broly grabs the opponent by the face, and flies forwards to slam their head into a nearby surface.
  • Bio-Hyper Beam: Bio-Broly shoots red eye lasers at the opponent.
  • Trap Shooter: Bio-Broly sends out a wave of dozens upon dozens of green ki blasts.

Other

Standard Tactics: Bio-Broly fights like a completely mindless monster, throwing punches and shooting ki attacks.

Weaknesses

Note

  • Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[144].
  • The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.

Codex Statistics Questions

Q: What about the planetary feats in Dragon Ball?

A: Planetary feats are normally done through their strongest charged blast, where they can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[145], with blasts capable of[146] seriously damaging/destroying[147] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[148], though they themselves are never capable of leaving this unscathed.

Frieza throws a destroy the planet death ball attack but it doesn't destroy the planet. Goku then interestingly notes the reason the planet didn't blow up is because Frieza was too scared of getting caught in the blast[149] . Vegeta's final flash is noted it's going to destroy the planet and Perfect Cell, who is beyond Vegeta, couldn't tank the blast and had to dodge it last second or it would've killed him[150]. Goku's kamehameha was going to destroy the earth and Cell cannot tank this blast, needing to regenerate[151]. Semi-Perfect Cell explosion was consistently noted it was going to destroy the planet and Gohan and it killed Goku[152]. Ultimate Gohan dies to an attack that destroys the earth, his guard was up too since this was when he was fighting Super Buu[153]. Kid Buu shoots a blast trying to destroy the planet, with Vegeta noting he's going to take himself out with it if he lets it off[154]. In Dragon Ball GT, Great Ape Baby Vegeta shoots a super galick gun that he claims will destroy Earth, when Goku is hit by it, he is knocked out to the point that he can't move for a good while, Elder Kai and Shin later state that Baby is going to shoot another blast that will destroy the planet on, greatly injuring Baby if he's caught in the Blast and will kill everyone on the planet if done[155]. Frieza destroyed the entire earth, killing Vegeta in the process[156]. In the Dragon Ball Super Manga, Gohan tells Goku that he doesn't need to hold anything back and can go all out because anything that happens to the Earth can be restored with Dende and the Dragon Balls. Yet, none of Goku's all out attacks destroy the planet but just heavily causes shockwaves around it[157]. Semi-Perfect Cell unleashes a several blast that destroys several islands Android 16 notes that the attacks are just strong enough to not kill Android 18[158].

In the fight of Trunks vs. Mecha Frieza, who is far stronger than his final form, Mecha Frieza immediately goes for his strongest attack, the Supernova. In the original Z anime King Kai even states this is ten times stronger than the power he used on Namek:

  • DBZ Kai Version[159].
  • Original DBZ Anime Version[160]. The attack is directly noted that it could destroy the planet, but doesn't because Trunks catches it, when Mecha Frieza proceeds to detonate it, the explosion is massive but the planet is still intact, implying Frieza must target the core in order to destroy the planet.
