The Mokke (勿怪, usually written as もっけ) is a species of Supernaturals haunting Kamome Academy. The Mokke first debuted during the second episode of the anime and Chapter 2 of the manga. Their initial appearance was derived from the Yousei-san (The Faeries) rumor, where they were agglomerated together to form a monstrous supernatural with several limbs. After they were scattered by Hanako's Hakujoudai, they returned to their previous forms: docile yet mischievous pink creatures known to have existed since ancient times. They claimed everyone was once a Mokke and took a great liking to eating candy or stealing stuff for fun. They can also be bribed by giving them candy as a reward.
In The Faeries (Yousei-san) Arc, Mokkes first debuted in the second chapter. Aoi tells a rumor about "The Faeries". Aoi describes that the faeries take away your belongings and that if you look upon them, they will take away your life. The story then proceeds and Nene's classmates are shown to have lost a lot of their belongings, including the doors to their lockers disappearing in a split second. Nene encounters a few items on the hallway of the old building in a trail. The trail leads to the reference room, and there she encounters a tall monster with eight arms. Hanako comes to her rescue and attacks it, revealing that the faeries were mokkes, combined into a big pile. Hanako explains that Mokkes are "weak, timid, Supernaturals." that needs to get together into that form to attack, and that they're actually not the type to attack people. The mokkes then say that they had no choice but to try to kill her, because their story got changed. This explained that the Supernaturals are bound to the rumours about them, and their behavior changed because the rumours about them was changed. The Mokkes explain that they have lived there happily for hundreds of years and wanted to continue. Nene decides to help the mokkes by changing their rumour, in which she does by telling her friends to bring around candy as a charm to keep faeries away from their belongings. The Mokkes finally lives happily, taking candies from people instead of other belongings.
In The Melancholy of the New No. 3 Arc, Over hearing Mitsuba's claim to find a new place to belong, they tell him he can stay with them. Mitsuba says he would consider it as he imagines being treated as king if he accepts. With a pair of scissors, a knife, and a ax that group of Mokke has in their grasp. They repeat their sentence one more time and adding that he will become a Mokke himself. This thought of Mitsuba becoming a Mokke and the repeated say of join us from the group made him decline the offer as he is running away. The mokke chase him for a while before disappearing.

The Mokke like to trick people and steal their precious belongings and only go away or give them up if they are given candy. They also threaten multiple people into turning them into a Mokke. They did this to Mitsuba Sousuke while he was crying. They implied that they would do it in a brutal manner.

This is best seen when Nene Yashiro attempted to push Hanako away from her when they first met. Since Hanako was a ghost, she phased through his body. Hanako is stated that normal people are not able to interact with him and that they need to either be close to death or have a powerful sixth sense), Weapon Mastery and Weapon Creation (The Mokke are able to create weapons from nothing and use them to threaten or attack other characters. This is shown when they surrounded Mitsuba and threatened to turn him into a Mokke while he was depressed. This is also shown when they were trying to attack Hanako and pulled out various weapons in order to take his spot as a School Mystery), Disguise Mastery and Shapeshifting (The Mokke are described as shape shifters that have been living amongst humans for thousands of years. Mokke have been shown to turn into various things such as other characters, a tissue box, and due to rumors, they are able to shapeshift into reality itself, making up every aspect of existence), Intangibility (All Supernaturals are able to go through walls and physical matter. This is demonstrated when Mitsuba was able to phase through a wall and mirror), Invisibility (All Supernaturals can not be seen by humans. Hanako is also able to turn himself more invisible to hide. He did this when he hid from Nene Yashiro in order to get information on her), Self-Sustenance (Types 1, 2 and 3. Due to being a Supernatural, The Mokke doesn't need to eat, sleep, or breath in order to stay functioning. Mitsuba states that ghosts don't have to eat and only do so if they want to. Hanako also states that before Nene Yashiro came along, Hanako would just sit in the girl's bathroom alone for many years), Human Achievements (Hanako, Nene Yashiro, Kou Minamoto, Tsuchigomori, and the Mokke were able to successfully run a cafe and serve many customers), Non-Physical Interaction (Hanako is able to interact with several Supernaturals such as the Mokke or the Mermaid. This is best seen when Hanako was fine right after the destruction of Shijima Mei's boundary. In said boundary, everything from the original world exists with in the other world. Every School Mystery was able to access their boundary while stuck in there. This is best seen when Mitsuba was able to access his boundary, "The Hell of Mirrors" while in Shijima Mei's boundary. After Nene was transported to another part of Shijima Mei's boundary, she states that the other world will be destroyed soon after.
