Background

Titanic Ant is the first Sanctuary Boss in EarthBound. It resembles a giant, grey ant with black stripes and red and blue tips of its antennae. It guards the first Your Sanctuary location, Giant Step, and resembles both a Black Antoid and a Gigantic Ant. When it enters battle, the Titanic Ant is accompanied by two Black Antoids, making it one of only two Sanctuary Bosses that don't fight alone. After defeating the Titanic Ant, Ness is free to enter Giant Step and obtain the first part of the melody for the Sound Stone.
