Hi, I'm Calem from the Kalos region. How about we compete to see who ends up stronger?
~ Calem

Background

Calem is a young Pokémon Trainer, who serves as one of the four rivals in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, alongside Serena, Trevor, and Tierno. Shauna is an energetic and playful young woman who meets Calem in Vaniville Town, quickly becoming his friend, and friendly rival. She also serves as a potential love interest to Calem.

Although she seems to lack a clear goal on her adventure, she finds joy in simply adventuring through the Kalos region and meeting new Pokemon. She eventually accompanies her friends in foiling the plot of Team Flare. Once Calem successfully defeats Diantha and claims the title of Pokemon League Champion, she gifts him with the unevolved form of her starter Pokémon.

Standard Equipment:

Name: Calem's Chesnaught

Sex: Unknown, likely Male

Category: Spiny Armor Pokémon

Type: Grass, Fighting

Level: Unknown

Ability: Overgrow - Powers up Grass-type moves when the Pokémon's HP is low.

Obtained: Gifted from Professor Sycamore

Pokédex Entry:

"When it takes a defensive posture with its fists guarding its face, it could withstand a bomb blast."

Name: Calem’s Charizard

Sex: Unknown, likely Male

Category: Flame Pokémon

Type: Fire, Flying

Level: Unknown

Ability: Blaze - Powers up Fire Type moves when the Pokémon's HP is low.

Obtained: Gifted from Professor Sycamore

"Charizard flies around the sky in search of powerful opponents. It breathes fire of such great heat that it melts anything. However, it never turns its fiery breath on any opponent weaker than itself."

Intelligence: Gifted (Shauna is able to commandeer three wildly different Pokémon with extreme proficiency. She's been able to contend with people such as Calem, who defeated Kalos's Gym Challenge and later became League Champion. Her Pokémon's intelligence should essentially be an extension of Shauna’s battle expertise)

Weaknesses: Shauna herself is not a combatant and is theoretically left wide open to attack | Shauna’s Pokémon are each left wide open if Shauna is unable to guide and command them. Greninja is weak to Fighting, Bug, Grass, Electric, and Fairy Types. Delcatty is weak to Fighting Types. Goodra is weak to Ice, Dragon, and Fairy Types.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

*Water Shuriken: The user hits the target with throwing stars two to five times in a row. This move always goes first.

  • Extrasensory: The user attacks with an odd, unseeable power. It may also make the target flinch.
  • Double Team: The user begins moving so quickly that it creates illusory copies to raise its evasiveness.

*Charm: The user charmingly stares at the foe, making it less wary. The target's Attack is sharply lowered.

  • Play Rough: The user plays rough with the target and attacks it. This may also lower the target's Attack stat.
  • Feint Attack: The user draws up to the foe disarmingly, then throws a sucker punch. It hits without fail.
  • Return: This attack move grows more powerful the more the user likes its Trainer.

  • *Dragon Pulse: The foe is attacked with a shock wave generated by the user's gaping mouth.

  • Sludge Wave: The user strikes everything around it by swamping the area with a giant sludge wave. This may also poison those hit.
  • Body Slam: The user drops onto the target with its full body weight. It may also leave the target with paralysis.
  • Earthquake: The user sets off an earthquake that hits all the Pokémon in the battle.
