Background
Soul Calibur is the primary force of good, and the eponymous sword, of the Soulcalibur series. Long ago, in Ancient Times, the Hero King Algol lost his son to the cursed sword Soul Edge. As a result of this loss, he forged the Soul Calibur out of a purified shard of the Soul Edge. This holy sword, Soul Calibur, would serve the primary purpose of destroying Soul Edge.
However, due to Algol's own lust for power, Soul Calibur was created with a twisted sense of morality, manifested in its avatar, Elysium. Although it fights for goodness and peace in the face of Soul Edge, it does so through any means necessary, even if those means could be perceived as cruel.
