Dan Barrows

From The Codex
Revision as of 00:32, 14 September 2024 by GiverOfThePeace (talk | contribs) (→‎Codex Statistics: clean up and re-categorisation per CFD)

Background

Dan Barrows is the tertiary antagonist and Bobby Barrows' twin brother and the son of Mary Barrows in Clock Tower: The First Fear, and presumably Simon Barrows (unless the theory that Mary was impregnated by a demon is true).

He uses supernatural powers like telekinesis to haunt the Barrows Mansion. He resides in a giant bed in the caverns underneath the mansion. His bed is referred to by Simon Barrows and Walter Simpson as the "Cradle under the Star".

He reappears in Clock Tower as the main antagonist becoming the new Scissorman under the pseudonym "Edward".

General Information

Name: Dan Barrows, Edward (His fake alias)

Origin: Clock Tower: The First Fear

Sex: Male

Age: 8 in Clock Tower: The First Fear, 10 in Clock Tower

Classification: New Scissorman (In the sequel), Deformed Twin, Demon, Orphan

Status: Deceased (Was sent into a vacuum where he was presumably killed)

Alignment: Chaotic Evil (As evil as his brother Bobby Barrows, noted to have demonic powers and used them to influence pedophilic urges to manipulate people and make them do his bidding, killing them afterwards, all to get back at Jennifer and play with her again)

Codex Statistics

Key: Clock Tower: The First Fear | Clock Tower

Tier: 9-C with shell, 10-C in true form | At least 10-C, 9-C with Scissors

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: Bone level with shell (If Jennifer does not run away in time Dan will kill her), Below Average Human with True Form (Dan’s body is noted to be so ill deformed that Walter Simpson notes he should’ve been dead) | Below Average Human level (Dan is a mere child in this form), Bone level with Scissors (Could stab Ann through a glass mural, can break through wooden floors, can break open a door)

Durability: Bone level with shell, Below Average Human level with true form. His Immortality, Invulnerability, & Reality Separation makes his true form very difficult to kill | Below Average Human

Striking Strength: Bone Class with shell, Below Average Human Class with true form | Below Average Human Class

Lifting Strength: Unknown | Average Human (Capable of casually holding large scissors)

Travel Speed: Below Average Human (Far slower then Jennifer Simpson) | Below Average Human

Attack Speed: Below Average Human | Regular Human

Reaction Speed: Below Average Human | Regular Human

Stamina: Limitless (Should scale to Bobby who has never shown to get tired throughout the entirety of the game. Bobby is an immortal being whose body is outside the flow of time thereby making him unaffected by anything within time’s flow, even with his ill-deformed body he is capable of staying alive due to time having no adherence to him, this is shown with the fact that the only way to defeat him is turning the clock tower back on) | Unknown (Due to the Clock Tower being start up it’s unknown what his stamina is now)

Range: Standard Melee Range, Extended Melee Range with Scissors (The scissors are large enough to where they almost are the size of Bobby’s body)

Intelligence: Above Average Intelligence (Even at a younger age he planned to escape his weakness of his deformed body by creating a cocoon with human flesh and blood and transforming it into the perfect human body) | Above Average (Planned out the entire events of the mansion, manipulated Kay or Barton with his “evil soul” and demonic self, hide his true identity from the entire cast only being found out by Helen or Jennifer at the end of the game)

Powers and Techniques

Aquatic Breathing (Like his brother he should be able to stay completely submerged underwater long enough to the point where Ann eventually drowned yet Bobby was completely fine), Self-Sustenance (Respiratory Self-Sustenance, Nutritional Self-Sustenance, & Restful Self-Sustenance; Dan has no need for any form of sustenance as he is an immortal being whose body is outside the flow of time thereby making him unaffected by anything within time’s flow, even with his ill-deformed body he is capable of staying alive due to time having no adherence to him, this is shown with the fact that the only way to defeat him is turning the clock tower back on, thus any means of hunger, breathing, sleep etcetera will not affect him), Immortality (Ageless and Life & Death Immunity; Dan is an immortal being whose body is outside the flow of time thereby making him unaffected by anything within time’s flow, even with his ill-deformed body he is capable of staying alive due to time having no adherence to him, this is shown with the fact that the only way to defeat him is turning the clock tower back on), Reality Separation (Chronolock; Dan is an immortal being whose body is outside the flow of time thereby making him unaffected by anything within time’s flow, even with his ill-deformed body he is capable of staying alive due to time having no adherence to him, this is shown with the fact that the only way to defeat him is turning the clock tower back on), Invulnerability (Metaphysical Invulnerability; Dan is completely immune to attacks as his body is outside the flow of time thereby making him unaffected by anything within time’s flow, with his ill-deformed body not meaning anything as he is capable of staying alive due to time having no adherence to him, where the only way to defeat him is to turn on the clock in the clock tower).

Resistance to Time Manipulation (Dan is an immortal being whose body is outside the flow of time thereby making him unaffected by anything within time’s flow, even with his ill-deformed body he is capable of staying alive due to time having no adherence to him)

Loses his Immortality and the abilities he gained through being in a state of stopped time due to the Clock Tower starting again, Stealth Mastery (Like his brother, he can sneak around and hide undetected from Jennifer and Helen), Weapon Usage (Can use gigantic scissors like his brother), Extrasensory Perception (Could see Kay Satterwhite’s pedophillic tendencies that were suppressed towards him through his demonic powers), Hell Manipulation (Has demonic powers), Mind Manipulation (Using his “beautiful face” and demonic sense he drew out and fostered Kay Satterwhite’s pedophillic desires towards him, making her mentally and physically inseparable from him Barton stated he was drawn in by Edward’s evil soul), Possession (In the novelization, Kay tries to warn Helen Maxwell that Scissorman is coming after Jennifer. Immediately after this, it is implied Edward telepathically possesses Kay, causing Kay to bleed from her mouth), Necromancy (In the novelization, Kay is decapitated by Scissorman. Later, Helen finds a zombified Kay in the church when Jennifer is about to be crucified. Kay is sewing her stomach area with her intestines hanging out with needle and thread. Kay says, "It's so fun! To be dead and yet alive. Edward's killed me so many times. But I suppose you can't understand how good dying feels until you've experienced it yourself.”), Teleportation (Has displayed teleportation capabilities throughout the course of the game, noted by the creator that the “warp” ability for Scissorman became possible by the ability of Dan)

Equipment

Nothing notable in Clock Tower: The First Fear, Scissors in Clock Tower

Other

Standard Tactics: Dan’s shell will attempt to chase after the opponent and kill them, meanwhile Dan will attempt to use his shell to create the perfect human body. | Edward is a master manipulator using his demonic powers to either possess to mind control someone through their desires. He will also dress as the scissorman and attempt to stab them with giant scissors.

Weaknesses: If the Clock Tower is started again Dan would instantly die due to the state of his body which was noted by Walter to be so deformed he should be dead. Though he counteracted this by making a new body within his shell that wasn’t deformed.

Note: Despite it being implied Dan’s time flow is only within the mansion, this is shown incorrect as one of the ending’s of the game has Jennifer driving far away from the mansion and Bobby (who has the same stopped time flow) teleports into the car with her, if he was no longer under time’s flow he would be dead instantly due to his deformed body.

Note 2: Dan did not die in Clock Tower, his shell was what was destroyed, he was able to make a body to suit him and come out as an amnesiac survivor after the Clock Tower’s time started again, though it’s heavily unlikely that his immortality still remains thus it is removed for the Edward section of his profile.
