Background
Yoriichi Tsugikuni is a supporting character of the manga and anime series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Although he never physically appears in the series (only ever being seen in flashbacks), Yoriichi has a huge presence in the series. Yoriichi is not only the founder of the Breathing Styles used by all Demon Slayers in the modern day, but is also noted as being the greatest Demon Slayer of all time.
A stoic and kind-hearted warrior, Yoriichi decided that his purpose in life was to destroy the origin of all demons, Muzan Kibutsuji. In order to do this, Yoriichi developed a technique known as Sun Breathing, which was later passed on to the other Demon Slayers and morphed into several different fighting forms.
Yoriichi, although a Demon Slayer gifted with a Demon Slayer Mark, which usually dictates that he was meant to die at a young age, lived well past the age of 80. Coming across his older brother, Michikatsu Tsugikuni, who had become a demon, the elder Yoriichi took his final stand. After delivering a powerful strike against his brother, Yoriichi passed away peacefully; still standing, with his sword still held firmly in his hand.

Bright Red Nichirin Sword burn on contact, and are able to slow the regeneration of Muzan Kibutsuji to the point where it seems to have come to a halt. Notable Techniques
The first-ever Breathing Style, created and masterfully utilized by the most powerful member of the Demon Slayers, Yoriichi Tsugikuni. It is a Breathing Style that is passed down from father to son in every generation, with each user of the Style wearing Hanafuda earrings. Sun Breathing has the user mimic the sun, and is noted as the most versatile Style, as none of the techniques seem to have any pattern to them. Visually, it appears as though the user is creating and manipulating solar flames.
- Dance: The user delivers a single high-powered vertical slash. Tanjiro has made an alteration to this style known as Dancing Flash, which is a combination between Dance and the Thunder Breathing form, Thunderclap and Flash; this attack has Tanjiro dash forwards with incredible speed, before delivering a vertical strike.
- Clear Blue Sky: The user spins their body horizontally to deliver a 360° slash.
- Raging Sun: The user unleashes two horizontal slashes to hit or defend from incoming attacks.
- Burning Bones, Summer Sun: The user unleashes a large circular slash that defends from imminent frontal attacks.
- Setting Sun Transformation: The user backflips into the air to deliver a powerful upended sword slash that aims to decapitate their target.
- Solar Heat Haze: The user charges towards the target, unleashing a horizontal slash seemingly covered in haze that fails to land, but actually does hit the target.
- Beneficent Radiance: The user spirals into the air and delivers a powerful slash that surrounds the enemy.
- Sunflower Thrust: The user unleashes a single thrust attack with the point of the blade.
- Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance: The user unleashes a continuous fast and powerful sword attack that seemingly takes the form of a Japanese dragon made of solar flames. This technique is capable of decapitating multiple targets at once.
- Fire Wheel: The user leaps behind the opponent and spins in the air downward, releasing a sword attack in a circular motion.
- Parhelion Rainbow: The user performs high-speed twists and rotations, thus creating afterimages used mostly to evade attacks. The afterimages work most effectively on enemies with good vision.
- Flame Dance: A two-combo strike which starts with a vertical slash and then a horizontal one right after.
- Thirteenth Form: The user continuously performs all twelve forms of Sun Breathing in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of his movements while reducing fatigue. This form was created solely for the purpose of killing Muzan Kibutsuji, since the repetition of all twelve forms aims to destroy Muzan's twelve vital organs.
