|
January 11, 1996: Overnight, all contact with Azure City was lost. It appeared as though every resident had vanished within just a few hours. The public grew fearful, speculating about what could have happened—a terrorist attack, a failed experiment by the GENE COMPANY, or perhaps something extraterrestrial. January 25, 1996: A team of police officers was sent to Azure City to investigate. Only four of them returned, having been unable to locate their missing colleagues. The mission raised far more questions than it answered. February 25, 1996: After a month of silence, a young investigator named Jack decided to head to Azure City. His goal was to solve the mystery once and for all, regardless of the risks. What drove him to take on a case that had already defeated a team of trained officers? Why would he put his life on the line for such a feared assignment? And would he survive long enough to uncover the truth? |

Explanations
Azure City
In ancient scriptures it is said that Azure City was created by a demonic entity. This creature allegedly lead the settlers to the clearing which would later become a city. The temple in the center of Azure City was built first and the inhabitants were hunters and farmers. They say, that the demon taught the people how to hunt more efficiently.
—The History of Azure City Part I
After they discovered the extensive cave system under the temple, the natives started holding ceremonies to honor their god.As their society grew more and more, the inhabitants started doing monthly sacrifices in the caves to please their deity.
—The History of Azure City Part II
The monthly sacrifices of youngling are said to have enraged the deity. This lead to a mighty storm breaking loose. The storm went on for multiple weeks. The natives called this event "Storm of Rage". During the storm of rage, approximately 83% of the population died. Some of them drowned, others were burned in their own houses.
—The History of Azure City Part III
The temple itself burned down during the storm of rage. It is said that the lake around ruins of the temple was created during the storm. Most of the survivors fled the village soon after the incident. Travellers who come by the temple are said to be cursed by the demon and die a horrible death.
—The History of Azure City Part IV
In 1930, almost one thousand years after the storm of rage, Azure City was founded by a building tycoon. The burned temple became a tourist attraction. In 1961, GENE CO. was founded by a group of inventors and they decided to set their headquarters up in Azure City.
Azure City became a meeting point for scientists from all around the world. By 1963, the tours through the temple ruins were closed down.
They were vastly overshadowed by the tours through the GENE CO. HQ and the tours were deemed to be dangerous when a child was impaled by a stalactite in 1962.
—The History of Azure City Part V
Azure City is a mysterious ghost town, according to its history, the town was created by a demonic entity who helped the townspeople learn to hunt more efficiently[1], with the natives doing monthly sacrifices as a means to please their deity[1]. One of their sacrifices enraged the deity leading to the "Storm of Rage" where 83% of the population died[1]. The temple burned down during this storm and created a lake around the temple's ruins, allegedly travelers who would come by the temple were said to be cursed by the demon and die a horrible death[1]. Azure City was officially founded by a building tycoon in 1930, nearly one thousand years after the storm of rage, with the burned temple being a tourist attraction[1]. GENE CO. was founded in 1961 and set their headquarters up in Azure City[1]. By 1963, Azure City became a meeting point for scientists from all around the world and the tours through the temple ruins were closed down[1]. The tours were deemed to be dangerous when a child impaled by a stalactite in 1962[1]. According to the scriptures, the city was cursed since the storm of rage and that the demon would return after 1000 years to punish non-believers[1]. The return date is believed to be February 27, 1996[1].
Around 1996, multiple newspapers[1] note how the whole population in the city disappeared overnight[1]. Some theories linked to possible Alien abduction[1].
Attempts at investigations resulted in policemen going missing[1]. People also went to start blaming Gene Co. behind the incidents[1].
Gene Corporation
| “ | The well-known company, which brought us several technological advancements, now even offers free tours through the building! | „ |
Gene Corporation is a popular company within this universe[1], even being claimed as the reason behind why the disappearances in Azure City happened[1]. GENE CO. was founded in 1961 and set their headquarters up in Azure City[1]. GENE CO. HQ vastly overshadowed the tours of the ruins with their tours[1].
In 1976 an unexplained accident happened in GENE CO. where dozens of people died and the corpses were horribly disfigured[1].
Trivia
- Pokemon Nightmare Invasion is set in a universe where Pokemon don't actually exist in the normal sense. The idea of Pokemon is just a collection of books made by someone[1]. Creatures like "Mew" got their name from the word Mutant and were a feline they found in the Faraway Island[1]. They received DNA-samples from Mew and tried to clone it[1].
- Jack likes detective novels[1].
- Jack used to play D&D back in the day[1].
- Jack's connection to Azure City is due to the death of his parents where they never found the killer[1].
- There are several Pokemon Nightmare Invasion easter eggs in the Pokemon Dusk series of games due to MrPrinz and Xargoth being good friends.
- In the underground train station in Pokemon Dusk, a blood graffiti can be found saying "Jack Blue was here"[9].
- In the upper levels of the Silph Co. building in Pokemon Dawn, Jack Blue can be found in a room where they believe he is suffering from transient global amnesia; where he states Pokemon are aliens and that bullets generally fly through walls regardless of how thick they are[2].
