Background

Tess is the protagonist of the game with the same name, Tess. The game follows Tess, an odd little girl who had a bad day. After her birthday, she was invited to greet Milly. She suggests they jump down a mountain. Tess is hesitant, but jumps down. She wakes up to see that Milly is "knocked out". So she carries her back. She adventures a cold area, fighting enemies along the way. She greets another man, who reveals both Tess and Milly are dead after the jump. Tess is given the option to return back to life if she gives Milly. She refuses and fights the man, only to reveal he cannot die to being an angel. After seeing how determined Tess is, he decides to let her and Milly go.
