Background

Jack-Jack is a major character in the 2004 Disney•Pixar animated film, The Incredibles and its 2018 sequel. He is the youngest son of Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl and the younger brother of Violet Parr and Dash Parr. Despite coming from a family of Supers, it was initially believed that he was born without any powers. In a surprising turn of events, the Parrs would later discover that he has at least seventeen powers.

The Incredibles Jack-Jack Parr is first seen as a baby being bathed by his mother, Helen, while she chats with Bob on the phone. At dinner, Helen playfully tries to feed him baby food, which he mimics, amusing himself but making Dash uncomfortable. He giggles during his siblings’ arguments, thinking they are simply playing. During a montage of family life, Bob takes care of Jack-Jack, giving him affection and feeding him at Helen’s encouragement. When Violet and Dash secretly join Helen on her mission to rescue Bob, Violet’s friend Kari McKeen is called in to babysit. Jack-Jack is shown playing happily in his high chair while Kari talks to Helen. He reappears at the climax when Syndrome attempts to kidnap him as revenge against the Parrs. Thanks to Kari playing Mozart, Jack-Jack awakens his powers, transforming into multiple forms (fire, steel, and demon) to fight Syndrome. As he falls, Helen catches him, and Violet’s force field saves the family from Syndrome’s exploding jet. Afterward, Jack-Jack laughs along with his family and later cheers for Dash at his track meet. At the very end, he is shown with the family, ready to face the Underminer, setting up his larger role in the sequel. The Incredibles 2 In the sequel, Jack-Jack continues to play a central role as his powers become more apparent. While his siblings watch him during the family’s fight with the Underminer, the Parrs later relocate to a motel and then to a luxurious new home after Helen is hired by Winston Deavor. With Helen away, Bob cares for Jack-Jack, and the baby delights in spending time with his father. Jack-Jack soon reveals the full extent of his abilities when he fights a raccoon, showcasing at least seventeen powers. Bob is amazed but quickly overwhelmed, resorting to using cookies to control his son’s unpredictable dimensional travel and monster transformations. Exhaustion from managing him leads Violet and Dash to call Lucius, who is stunned when Jack-Jack displays his abilities and suggests Bob seek outside help. Bob turns to Edna, who is initially reluctant but quickly fascinated by Jack-Jack’s powers. She upgrades his super-suit with features to help manage his abilities and explains that he is a polymorph. She also warns Bob against relying on cookies, as this encourages Jack-Jack’s destructive forms. Later, when Evelyn Deavor brainwashes Helen, Bob, Lucius, and other Supers, Jack-Jack joins Violet and Dash in escaping aboard the Incredibile. On the DevTech ship, he demonstrates his powers further by freeing Helen from her goggles, allowing her to release Bob and Lucius. He later helps remove goggles from the other hypnotized Supers, stunning Helen, who realizes she missed witnessing his powers. After Evelyn’s defeat and arrest, the Parr family reunites, with Jack-Jack’s abilities now fully recognized. Supers are legalized again, and Jack-Jack is left with a promising future as a powerful addition to the family’s heroic legacy.

Supersuit

Jack-Jack's supersuit which was specially designed for him by Edna Mode. It can withstand up to over 1000 degrees and is completely bulletproof and virtually indestructible to all methods of explosives, cutting, stabbing, etcetera. Dash's suit was made specifically to withstand the enormous friction he creates without heating up or wearing out. Jack-Jack's suit is made to counter the wild nature of his powers and also help him. Edna Mode herself comments that it is her best work.

Standard Tactics: Jack-Jack will typically opt for his laser vision. He has also shown to transform into his Demon Baby form alongside setting himself ablaze when angry.
