Background

Weiss is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, and secret boss of Final Fantasy VII Remake. He serves as not only the leader of the elusive subsection of the Shinra Power Electric Company, Deepground, but also as the leader of the wildcard super soldiers, the Tsviets. Because of his standing as an unstoppable leader, he is revered under such titles as "The Immaculate One" and "The Pure White Emperor".

When he was born, Weiss was infused with pure Mako energy, which is known to have horrible effects, such as by inflicting people with Mako Poisoning, or turning them into the monstrous Makonoids. Weiss somehow came out without either of these effects, however, and was seen as a pure, incorruptible being. This likely would influence the nicknames he would come to possess later in life. Weiss is the older brother of Nero the Sable, who is both pitch black in color scheme and incredibly corrupted with darkness, as a direct parallel to Weiss himself. Weiss and Nero have an incredibly strong bond with one another, and together were sent to reclaim Genesis Rhapsodos, following his defeat at the hands of Zack Fair. The Tsviets had been spliced with Genesis's DNA, making Weiss refer to him as his brother. Sometime following both Meteorfall and the Geostigma plague, marking the defeat of Sephiroth, Deepground began to reveal itself to the world. In secret, the devious Professor Hojo had converted his mind into data, and used this to inject itself into Weiss; essentially possessing Weiss and using his body as a host. With this, Hojo would attempt to summon Omega Weapon, which he would then fuse with. In an unexpected move, however, Nero fused himself with Weiss, which brought corruption into Weiss's body and destroyed Hojo's data, before Nero himself disappeared. With nothing left, Weiss himself fused with Omega Weapon, in an attempt to carry out Omega's goal of taking the world's Lifestream energy and leaving to another planet. This created the being known as Omega Weiss. However, Omega Weiss was opposed by Vincent Valentine, who had become the entity known as Chaos. With Chaos defeating Omega Weiss, Omega Weapon was fully destroyed, and Weiss's unconscious body fell into a dark cave below Midgar. This awoke Genesis Rhapsodos, who took Weiss and vanished into the night.

• Heaven & Earth: A twin pair of sword revolvers forged by Argento for Weiss. As a set of gunblades, these two katana-like swords have a revolver incorporated in the design, allowing for Weiss to fire off bullets while swinging the sword. This gives him close and long range all in one.
