Background
The Arwing is the personal super-high performance combat spacecraft used by members of the Star Fox Team. Developed by Space Dynamics Co., Ltd., the Arwing is equipped with the revolutionary G-Diffuser system, an anti-gravity device which allows the pilot to accelerate or decelerate instantaneously and perform a wide variety of high performance combat maneuvers. By executing an aileron or barrel roll, the Arwing can also generate an electromagnetic shield which will deflect most optically based weapons, such as laser beams. The Arwings used by the Star Fox Team are much different from any production versions as they have been extensively modified with improved armor and advanced weapon systems, such as Hyper Laser Homing Bolts and Smart Bombs. Despite numerous revisions and redesigns over the course of the team's history, the many models of Arwings have maintained the balance of speed, power and performance that they are credited for. The Arwing starfighter is the primary battle vehicle of the Star Fox Team, and is almost the symbol of their team.
General Information
Name: Arwing
Origin: Star Fox
Sex: None
Age: Unknown (Was in the prototype phase when Andross attacked the Lylat System)
Classification: Spaceship
Users: Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad, Peppy Hare, Miyu, Fay, Fox McCloud Sr. (formerly), Pigma Dengar (formerly)
Terrain: Lylat System outer space, sometimes used in planetary atmospheres
Codex Statistics
Tier: High 6-A, Higher with Twin Blasters Type A and B, Booster and Retro Rockets, and Nova Bombs
Dimensionality: 3-D
Attack Potency: Multi-Continent level (Can defeat the Rock Crusher which are capable of reducing planetoids into cosmic space dust[1], with planetoids typically having a gravitational binding energy of 2.335E+28 Joules), Higher with Twin Blasters Type A and B (Both Twin Blaster Modules are direct upgrades over the standard Blaster[2]), Booster and Retro Rockets (Booster and Retro-Rockets are charged attacks from the Booster Meter[3], and Nova Bombs (Nova Bombs are bombs with massive destructive capability[3])
Durability: Unknown normally (Is usually one-shotted by all attacks after the Arwing Shields are depleted), Multi-Continent level with shields (Can withstand attacks from the Rock Crusher)
Speed: Supersonic+ in the atmosphere (Can move at Mach 4.2 at top speeds in the atmosphere), Speed of Light with Warp Speed (The Great Fox uses Warp Speed to travel at the speed of light across the Lylat System, which the Arwings display when in space)
Combat Speed: Supersonic+ with barrel roll (Can move fast enough to deflect projectiles with the Barrel Roll[4]), Speed of Light with Blasters (The Blaster and Twin Blaster are powerful laser cannons that fire laser beams at rapid speed[2])
Stamina: Unknown
Range: Dozens of Meters with Blasters (The lasers from the Blasters go far outward only stopping once colliding with an enemy), Hundreds of Meters with Nova Bombs (Creates a massive explosion that extends across the entire screen), Interplanetary with Radar Sensing (Can detect trouble from other planets in the Lylat system with the Arwing's mini radars)
Powers and Abilities
Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Flight & Spaceflight (The Arwing is easily capable of space travel), Light Manipulation & Energy Manipulation (Can fire lasers with the Blasters & Twin Blasters[2]), Charged Attack & Shockwave Generation (The Arwing can perform a charged blaster attack which creates a much larger projectile explosion[5]), Power Modification and Statistics Boost (Can fire off Booster & Retro Rockets when the Arwing's Booster Rocket Charge Meter is full[3]), Statistics Amplification (His rocket can accelerate temporarily with a speed boost), Explosion Manipulation (Can fire off Nova Bombs), Limited Attack Reflection (With the barrel roll, the Arwing can reflect some laser attacks[4]), Velocity Manipulation (The Arwing is equipped with the revolutionary G-Diffuser system, an anti-gravity device which allows the pilot to accelerate or decelerate instantaneously and perform a wide variety of high performance combat maneuvers), Forcefield Creation (Has a shield around it to protect it from attacks[2]), Power Modification & Plasma Manipulation (By collecting a second Twin Blasters power-up, the Arwing Blasters will be upgraded to Twin Blasters Type B[6], which fire plasma-based projectiles with greater size), Regeneration (After a stage is complete the Arwing will refill it’s shield gauge), Radar Sensing (Equipped with a mini radar that can scan your location, enemy locations, allows you to find other planets in danger, and allies plus items), Transformation & Pseudo-Body Control (Morphing; Advanced Control; The Arwing can enter a state of flight mode or walker mode, changing around it’s structure to suit both), Intangibility (Material; With the Power Shield, this powerful defensive shield can be obtained by taking a Shield Item. While the Power Shield is active, the Arwing will become transparent and will not take damage from enemy attacks or collisions[2]), Healing & Restoration (With Space Relief, replenishes the shield health of an arwing[5]. With Repair, restores two segments of the Arwing's shield meter[5]), Enhanced Forcefield Creation & Invulnerability (Physical Invulnerability; The Super Shield is a special shield that makes the Arwing impervious to all damage for a brief period[5]).
Resistance to Gravity Manipulation (The Arwing is equipped with the revolutionary G-Diffuser system, an anti-gravity device which allows the pilot to accelerate or decelerate instantaneously and perform a wide variety of high performance combat maneuvers), Pierce Resistance (Major Pierce Resistance; Due to the Arwing's shields, it can survive several laser blasts that would otherwise destroy the ship), Fire Manipulation (Can survive hits from the Dancing Insector, which attacks using Fire Blasters), Black Holes, Space-Time Manipulation & Physics Manipulation (Can travel inside of a black hole just fine)

Notable Techniques
Star Fox
- Barrel Roll: The barrel roll maneuver can be useful in reflecting some laser attacks and shaking off some enemies that cling to your ship.
- Booster Rocket Charge Meter: This meter shows how much energy is consumed by your booster rockets or Retro-rockets. Your boosters or retro will be available to use only when this meter is full. This meter will gradually refill after you have discharged your boosters or retros.
- Nova Bombs: The number of Nova Bombs remaining is indicated here. You begin your mission with three Nova Bombs.
Star Fox 2
- Charge Blaster: Hold down the B Button to charge your blaster. Once the gauge is full you can fire off a power-blaster shot, but if you take damage while charging, the gauge will empty. Charging speed varies depending on which type of Arwing you are piloting.
- Special Item: Shows the type of special item you have equipped, and how many uses you have remaining.
- Smart Bomb: The standard loadout on prototype-model Arwings. These bombs deal a high level of damage.
- Space Relief: The default special item of an Armoured Arwing. It replenishes the craft's shields.
- Super Shield: The Light Arwing is equipped with super shields by default. When used, these surround the craft with a powerful barrier, making it impervious to damage for a limited time.
Other
Weaknesses: Can lose the twin lasers if too much damage or if the Arwing wings are damaged, and can lose the power shield if it collides with too many objects.
Note: This is the Arwing of Star Fox 1993 & Star Fox 2. The other games are a continuity reboot and take place in a different continuities.
